Short answer IMO is it will improve the pool of players for the national team.

The club game? Probably not- maybe in the long run, but right now and for a while perhaps not.

True,

But in all honesty I think the way Southgate is managing the national squad will be a greater benefit, he's sees the importance of the under 21's 20's and 19's to the national team and is keen for the players to come up through the ranks together

Yeah true- he promotes youth, but then managers since Capello's final year or so have been starting to cap youth in increasing numbers. Hodgson had a spell when he went back to 4-4-2 early in his reign and back to basics for about a year...

It would undoubtedly give the PL a knock, it would not be the global League- almost brand- it is today IMO if ratios reverted in that way.

its not wrong ether, all of a sudden the majority of players in the prem will require a work permit with many of them failing to get one,

Why do you think "many will fail to get one", Monk?

There are a large number of non-EU players in the PL who require work permits already, but that has never acted as a bar to top clubs recruiting them.

Even if there's "no deal", it will of course remain entirely in the government's gift to give out whatever work permits they want. Just because we might not be in the EU, and therefore EU citizens might require work permits, doesn't mean that the UK government won't grant those permits.

There are plenty of reasons to worry about Brexit, but this isn't one of them!

I doubt it'll have an impact on the Premier League.

If a foreign player is earning £100k a week, they're probably taking that amount home (if the Tevez pay slip was accurate), with a similar amount being paid in tax. If the tax man is getting that several times over every month then they'd be ******* idiots to limit the number of foreign players in the Premier League. It's (largely) foreign money coming into the country, being funnelled through British companies, with tens of millions being earned in tax on people that are purely here for short-term work.
