Mr X
I can't think of many other former/current City players that would do this in there spare time! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-45372482/fulham-player-reading-books-makes-me-a-better-footballer

ExiledAjax
Lots of them post about reading. Pack and Smith have both sooner so recently. I never understand why they just read self help stuff and books about how to be successful. Never seen to be reading some standard fiction. chinapig
Time was he would have been ridiculed for reading books, as Le Saux was. Another sign of how the game has changed perhaps.
Rudolf Hucker
In fairness, 15ers players also enjoy books too but sometimes still crayon outside of the lines.

Bristol Oil Services
So, definitively, unquestionably, from the horses mouth, books improved Joe Bryan as a footballer and turnt him into a PL player, not Lee Johnson. One for the Johnson haters there.

You'd be surprised, it can help shape perspective and alter mental processes which were previously negative for you. The Chimp Paradox has seemingly been used by every professional sports team in one way or another, very publicly too. You shouldn't underestimate the power of thinking in different ways. I'm not advocating it of course but Steve Jobs famously put down his success at creating Apple to once taking LSD, which he said changed his life. Some of the greatest intellects of all time have dabbled with drugs - it's obviously not a good thing in the vast, vast majority of cases but for some, it can shape your mental perspective and schemas into a far more successful direction, just by unlocking a feeling/viewpoint, etc that you never knew you had. In a nutshell, we know eff all really about psychology. But the power of using it correctly is absolutely immense.

Robbored
JB is indeed a clever guy and a well educated one at that. He comes from a good family. His father is an exceptionally bright man and ensured all his children received a top drawer education as he did. JB is about as far away from the stereotype pro footballer as you can get.
