chinapig
I found this an interesting development in coaching kids. Seems to make a lot of sense. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2018/sep/02/biobonding-football-coaching-young-elite-players
INCRED
Amazing it’s only now that this has been thought about. It’s common knowledge that teenagers in particular develop and grow at different rates and tends to level out in their later teens early 20s. Ashtonwurzel
Have coached quite a bit in the States and a couple of the schools I worked in utilised this method in younger age groups to great success. I also used it to form training groups and teams in Cambodia as ages are often fake anyway.
Lrrr
There would need to be a limit on how many age groups apart kids could play though I feel, hard to chuck a big 13 year old in against say 17 year olds.
Lack of Action Man
They were suggesting that this would be coming into practice when I did my FA Level 1 in 2014. Can't believe it's taken so long to become mainstream.
RedFencing
It's been on the cards for so long. I am surprised it has taken so long to reach football.
redsapper
It’s still not reached grassroots football!! It’s a Pro Club academy thing. Players can can only play up one age group at Grassroots and not down at all!
