Didn't realise this was related, can rely on OTIB to clear up mysteries. As I was entering the Dolman about 10 minutes before kick off there was a bloke who clearly had learning difficulties, being chucked up against a police van by 3 coppers while trying to film them on his phone, which he was desperately trying to stop them getting off him. I must admit thinking it was pretty heavy handed when he obviously had mental health issues. Didn't see the Boro shirt.

If you were 10 mins pre kick off then he'd been bothering the police for at least 15 mins. I'm frankly amazed they gave him that long from what I observed. Looked as though he was angling to get arrested.

Whilst aware of it, I never watch it and if this Boro version is anything to go by, what’s the point?
Spoons
Yet again police having to deal with mental health issues. This chap shouldn't be in a police cell but they didn't have much choice by the sounds of it. Don't get me started on mental health funding in and around Bristol. Unfortunately he returned in breach of that hence why he then got arrested. If he has MHP could you please deal with him nicely and get your northern officers to treat him politely when he gets home. BigAl&Toby
And now we wonder why some feel threatened by a police presence? Irrespective of their motives for being there - dare I say it - to watch a football match. And the Boro fan. Great to see so many medically qualified experts being able to diagnose either a mental illness or him being a knob.... I live with a mental illness. Not that you’d necessarily know if you met or knew me. Anyway 3 points tomorrow and promotion to look forward to.....

He was given it and then breached it by returning to the area. we have maps produced for both city and rovers which shows designated areas and can be used on match days when relevant Hi Julie, Out of interest how do you define an "away" fan in these circumstances? Is it enough for someone to be wearing an away team's shirt to be given a dispersal, or do they have to be causing some sort of unrest? Is there actually a rule that says you can't wear away team colours in the home end of a football stadium, and if so how do you define that? Let's say someone with no knowledge of football came to Ashton Gate and innocently wore a yellow scarf for a game against Norwich - could they get ejected for that? Just curious to know how you draw the line.

If it's the direct opponent on the day then out they go- possible they could get transferred to away end in some cases. If it's a side not playing on the day, e.g. a third side then it's acceptable provided the individual wearing it isn't creating a scene, a nuisance- this Boro fan clearly was so coupled with the earlier dispersal order or whatever it was, he clearly had to go. aberdeen_craig
I saw the Boro fan in the smoking area behind the Dolman about an hour before kick off. He was shouting something about how City were going to lose 3-1 to Sheffield Utd and that Boro were getting promoted this season. Kept pointing to the Boro badge on his top. Most people just looked a bit bemused by him and were just ignoring him though.

There is no law on wearing away colours in home end and vice versa however it is first and foremost a club/ safety decision if they choose to leave those fans in those areas wearing those items of clothing. In my experience it very rarely happens

Mr Popodopolous
Oh dear! That video...Embarrassing. Those stewards ejecting him sounded very irate- when I first read it I assumed he was just there relatively quiet in a Boro shirt with maybe the odd song, wasn't aware he was actually taunting like that- if he hadn't been removed he may well have got worse by the fans! His filming/camera work is in the main bang average too!

Admin phantom Posted September 20, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted September 20, 2018 As there were two massively different discussions within this thread, I've split them accordingly into one about this Boro fan, and a new thread about the incident in the South Stand. I didn't feel it fair on our fans getting their posts lost within this thread. Admin phantom Posted September 20, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted September 20, 2018 Meant to have said, the chap tried to submit this video to a Facebook group I help moderate (not the city til I die page), so blocked the upload but thought it of use for people within this thread to see. Looking at his Facebook profile the penny dropped with something, earlier this season I was at Somerset cricket and some guy was chirping away behind us all afternoon (before being removed) looking at his profile he has posted a video sat in the same section so must assume it's the same guy. Oddly he seems to follow Yeovil as well?? But the saddest thing he has a great looking son, so needs to sort himself out before he fucks up his sons life too! Guest
Seems he just wants to cause trouble for the sake of getting some pathetic video. Someone will sooner or later lose the plot with him and he will get a hiding, but you can bet he will post some pathetic video blaming everyone bar himself for it.
