Leveller
After a storming promotion last season, I see TT are now second in the higher league - albeit the top seven all have 14 points from 7 games. Only one defeat to leaders Weymouth, and a good win against local rivals Tiverton. It’s widened out geographically too, with a few London/Home Counties rivals now included. Leveller
An update. Taunton are now top of their league, though Weymouth have games in hand. Yesterday they won 7-0. Though it helped that the opposition had three red cards in the first half!!! The joys of non league football. Could swap places with Weston at the end of this season though, at this rate. Kid in the Riot
Still a long way to go for the Peacocks but looking good so far. When was the last time they played at a level one below the conference?

Gillies Downs Leeds
Fair play to Taunton, I thought that when the management team left to go to Truro, it might have affected them. They have gone from strength to strength and have really surprised me.

I watched Tiverton v Taunton earlier this season expecting what you say. None of it though, tbh it was a poor game with no real feel of a derby match. They are a totally no thrills team, very much a percentage football team, just about every ball goes long and very little ( basically nothing) gets played through midfield. But.... it works for them. Not the sort of football I personally like to watch, but they are obviously happy with the results they are getting.

Leveller
Time for an update. The chances of successive promotions into Tier 6 are still looking remarkably strong. After a 2-1 home win against Farnborough today, Taunton are five points clear at the top, outperforming bigger more established clubs like Salisbury and Weymouth. Looking good, Met Police and Salisbury dropped points this week. And the last West Country involvement in the Vase ended today with Willand getting beat 3/1 at home in the quarters. MattWSM
Poor old Weston had a bad loss today at home to Chippenham. Away at Torquay next week. Need 7-8 wins from 12 to have a chance of staying up. Never been relegated before in their history.

Leveller
Taunton have dropped off recently and are now second, with Weymouth five points clear at the top. Taunton have eight points from the last six games, including two recent wins, while Weymouth have sixteen. Still, Taunton are guaranteed a play off place, so still have a fair chance of consecutive promotions, potentially replacing Weston in National League South. From Taunton's website Town made it 3 wins in the space of a week following a 1-0 victory at Chesham United yesterday afternoon (30 Mar). The Peacocks started the brightest and dictated the tempo early with Josh Nelmes almost opening the scoring in the 21st minute when he headed Ryan Brett’s free kick wide of the post. As the game became even, Taunton’s skipper Matt Wright rose to meet Lewis Hall’s cross with a powerful header to break the deadlock one minute before half time. The second half was a tight affair with neither side able to grab a goal thanks to some great goalkeeping from both men in between the sticks at either end meaning Town returned from The Meadow with all 3 points and another clean sheet. Town have now mathematically secured a Play-Off position with 5 games remaining of the campaign. Rob Dray remarked, “That was a proper performance against a very good side who have only been beaten just the once in the last 17 games. The boys were superb in every way on a difficult pitch. We had bodies missing and had made a long journey but from the off we looked sharp and did the basics better than we have done for a while. All in all it’s been a good week, 6 points , 2 clean sheets and we made it through to a cup final.”

Also, Weymouth won their game in hand - your table is a bit behind - and are five points clear (37 games each).
