We can look like a completely different team from one game to the next, so I wouldn't necessarily be worried about that.

Poor tonight but it just doesn’t work like that in the Championship.

After that performance you both for real.

You watch the ex City players coming back to haunt you.

And like we've been shot following WBA; we're now back to an abhorrent performance ala Boro.

It all comes down to confidence.

Actually it comes down to a bunch of bang average players, with no leaders, who fall apart at the first signs of a scrap. If we won a 50/50 I'm struggling to remember it

Problem was LJ switched it to the system we should have started with but when he did he put Watkins and Weimann on the wings. 2 wide men who will not take on their man and get a ball in the box. We should have kept Eliasson on.

Eliasson should always be on the pitch even if he’s having a shocker, it only takes one cross.

best crosser in the division

On this, we went to 433 with Weimann and Watkins playing wide, so O'Dowda playing CM doesn't really have anything to do with wingers playing at the time, who else would have gone CM? O'Dowda was our best option to go there.

433 and lump it. Great tactics.

Needed to get the ball wide and cramming players in out of position is not what was needed tonight.

Awful tactics. Poor performance from both players and head coach im afraid.

Not disagreeing with the lump it part, but was more about the seeming bemusement of O'Dowda playing CM.

More recently, I can still get depressed thinking about Brentford at home last season.

Winner, that was far, far worse.

Yes let’s judge everything on one poor performance and ignore the fact we’ve won more than we’ve lost.

Well done on the balanced assessment.

It’s not one poor performance tho mate,Blackburn and sheff United were results we really shouldn’t of got when he changed our formation to stop them,at one stage your luck is going to run out

Villa who are below us in the table? Not that difficult to imagine really. Don’t understand the need to write off the game already.

So which team do you see causing us more problems an organized but frankly average Wigan team or a Villa team with the range of attacking players they have. Possible we get something from the game but frankly consider it unlikely - especially if we play like we did tonight

At least that was one team playing poorly and one well. The fact that these two teams tonight were playing for third place looked bizarre. Looked a relegation clash.

That was absolutely dreadful, frustrating and downright annoying. I’m angry at all of them for the performance. No one wanted the ball. No one stood up and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. No one created anything.

We are a decent team but that was a performance that stank of a manager who has over-thought the three games in six days. LJ has got it wrong these last two games and it’s cost us at least two points.

Eliasson and Diedhiou should have started against West Brom. They terrified them, the power of Diedhiou and Eliasson’s trickery did wonders going forward.

Today, we needed a more technical, astute approach. Taylor could easily have made a difference and O’Dowda was the only one who was looking for the ball after he came on.

I believe we could easily have ended with two draws if the selection had been right. Now we’re two losses down with a really tough game next. Could easily be three defeats in a row.

This last week stinks of over-planning and a predetermined strategy that was going to happen whatever happened.

At some point you have to trust your best players to play a few games in a row and bring in backups when players really need them, not as a pre-planned strategy to get them through the games.

I’m annoyed and angry at a two game spell that has taken away a lot of the momentum over the previous four. It’s not even as if Wigan and West Brom have been that great! West Brom could easily have been beaten by us, whilst Wigan are a hard-working, organised bunch of journeymen.

We need to trust in ourselves and be a hell of a lot better going forward.

It simply doesn’t work like that in the Championship.

We’ve beaten good sides before already this season (Swansea, Sheff Utd) and held our own against a fancied Forest team.

What if we play like we did in those games? Why the determination to judge everything solely on tonight?

Sorry for attempting to provide a bit of perspective.
