"We want to invest not just in City but in the wider Bristol community as well.”

Four months later I have heard nothing.

Well they might not be investing in your local community, but how would you know if they are investing in ours? There are many ways they could be doing so, Shirt's event sponsorship etc, but as others have said, they may not be able to be as obvious in advertising the fact because of their trade.

Maybe they are undertaking all manner of charitable works but aren't looking for publicity?

Probably a better question to ask of Dunder than the forum.

They could put it on the OS, they don’t have to splash it everywhere if they want to do it quietly.  Tommy has a point.

Tommy has a point a rare statement indeed! But clearly it would be nice to know what Dunder are doing since they were quoted as community involvement  being a thing.

You make a very good point here Swede. I think we should all keep asking this question.

Why..? They committed to financially sponsoring the club.

Yes, their statement mentioned the wider community, but they made no specific promises or obligations.

Anything they do in the wider community would be worthy of praise & above & beyond their remit as club sponsor.

Exactly why I'm asking if people have heard something

I think it's safe to assume @Robbored hasn't heard anything in his stand.. nothing he can understand anyway...

Come On Dunder take a gamble, how about sponsoring a decent stadium public address system for The Gate, it'd be a dead cert winner PR wise..

TBF to Tommy, all he's doing is asking if anyone knows if anything has happened, he isn't saying it hasn't. He's just interested if they've done what they suggested they might

Perhaps. Sounds more like digging with an agenda to me.

I wonder if they have raised their profile as much as they had hoped after sponsoring us. Apart from a City fan anyone asked to name a betting company wouldn’t put them in a top ten I don’t think, and I doubt if they would be the first thought of many City fans either.

They do put their name to the half time competition, is that what they meant by working in the Community.

I don’t think they are in the general betting market, are they..? Certainly not sports betting, as far as I can tell.

They are an online casino, so not something I’d do anyway.

Did anyone seriously expect more from an organisation with, as far as I am aware, no links to our city.

No, or any organisation.  It's a PR box tick; I have to put it on my tenders and as long as there's some acceptable guff there then it scores the 0.5% weighting that sort of thing gets.

It doesn't get followed up, the only value is that you can put a statement on your website saying that working in the community is one of the criteria upon which you appoint contractors or suppliers.  And "you really value this sort of involvement"; even though you don't actually give a stuff.

If someone is going marvelous work in the community but costs 10% more then they ain't getting it.

If Dunder bid 10% more than the next one they get it.

It's basic common sense for anyone who lives in the real world rather than the pink and fluffy version of reality.
