wendyredredrobin
Glad to see us getting a result from a dirty Brentford side and really digging in. We do seem to be losing possession a bit too easily though. Kelly and DaSilva both looked good. Decent debut for Max. We do seem a bit reluctant to shoot from distance. 2 points off the playoffs now. Well done lads.

BCFC Grim
Did max touch Watkins shot on to the post? It looked like it. Hope we stick with him. The same with Kelly at CB. reddogkev
Fantastic win, well done to City, the coaches, and the fans there today. Finally, a win to celebrate again and we are looking good in the table. Bring on Hull! Love the fact that Max kept a clean sheet, as a few of you folks predicted. bcfc01
Just a few beauties from the Brentford forum; Jack Hunt what a vile shit. Surprised Neal didn't knock him spark out Jack ****. Neal was itching to turn round and belt him Threw the ball into new road to waste time, walks off and then comes back to a take a throw. Tried his best to wind Neal up to get him to react. (He succeeded) Could have gone either way, but the pendulum swung after Mepham was sent off. Don’t usually blame the referee, but I would say he saw a lot more Brentford misdemeanours than I did. Atmosphere very sour on his account. The way he ran back in amongst the Bristol players after their goal like one of their team enjoying their celebrations said it all for me - safe journey back to Bristol mate, and don’t forget to pick up your winnings from the bookies on Monday. The EFL has to do something about these f******g useless referees & linesmen, the guy on New Road missed at least 5 offsides in 2nd half & that muppet of a referee took 12 paces for a free kick then did marginally better by only taking 11 steps a few minutes later. (could be 15 steps as long as it equates to 10 yards you idiot) Thought Bristol were disgusting. Gamesmanship everywhere. Jack Hunt was a disgrace and with Lee Johnson, the apple don't fall far from the tree. An odious ***** like his father. All nicey nicey but deep down nasty little men. (Bitter or what) Maupay receiving blatant verbal goading for several minutes during a stoppage in play (and Maupay had to be held back from reacting which was amusing) . However, the team just have to accept that the opposition players and their horrible bleating managers are employing such tactics, that the standard of referring is poor and rise above it by keeping their own discipline to avoid yellow and red cards which are costing us points. (note to Brentford: if you have players who have a reputation for losing it under provocation, the opposing team will, most definitely, play on it). We are increasingly being out game managed by inferior opposition (Really ? Arrogance....from the mighty Brentford) . They fouled us 11 times in the first of which none were booked. Those niggly fouls stopppng us taking free kicks break up our play. (each team committed 17 fouls you muppet) Then in the 2nd half it was open season for bookings against us. They got Mepham booked twice (obviously he did nothing wrong) The linesman ‘missed’ three offsides (its going down, it was 5 earlier) which were at least a yard off in the 2nd half. It was truly bizarre. We weren’t at our best but the officials had the biggest impact on the result today. (yep, you lost to an inferior side because of the officials) So, to summarise; Our manager is an odious little ***** the same as his dad and they are both nasty little men, our team is disgusting and is inferior to Brentford, and Jack Hunt is a vile shit. We did a proper job on them and it was friggin funny to watch their players lose their cool and now just as funny to see their supporters do the same. Lanterne Rouge
Just seen the highlights on Quest; 1) No way was MT offside for the disallowed header and no chance AW touched the ball. 2) Brentford fans should stop moaning about us and ask why they left Niclas totally unmarked for his goal so all he had to do was pass it in to an empty net 3) Loved the boos from their fans at the end. 4) Enjoyed seeing Maupay having to be escorted off the pitch by one of the coaching staff to stop him having a pop at someone. 5) Mepham a tad unlucky to go off but hey ho, it happens. 6) If Max did get a glove on the Watkins shot that hit the post that was a superb save as was the one from the Canos (?) shot. Putting aside that Flint played 8 more games in all comps. than Baker last season ( and scored 8 more goals) Flint was also one of only 2 players imo. who played consistently through the good and bad runs (Reid being the other) both in terms of form and attitude. Baker at his very best may indeed be 'better' than Flint, however we see that all too rarely and he is inconsistent in terms of temperament, form and availability. Flint beats Baker hands down in terms of reliability and determination, both to play - and carry on playing when injured - and to win, so imo. there really is no comparison between the two when it comes to value to the team over the season. Alessandro
Missed the game yesterday - sounds like we got in their faces a bit and did a very professional job against a tough Brentford team we aspire to be like. Great to hear - especially as a few were worried the squad was too much a ‘reflection’ of our manager - nice enough guy, just a bit soft and lacking a winning mentality. Watching the Boro game last night on the EFL show there was a "pile on" on the ball in Boro's area led by Flint, he basically dived on top of a loose ball to prevent the opposition getting it. Flint v Baker ? No contest imo, Flint every time.

Surprised to read the opinion of GJ who I once read used to watch Brentford as a kid - he grew up in that general area. Generally, I'd say Bees fans have less of the London arrogance you see from most supporters of cockney teams, but the lot quoted above certainly must have spent the evening quaffing copious pints of London Not Pride But Very Very Bitter! Just to prove they aren't all melts, my mate edits their main fanzine and he said we deserved the win and lack of discipline cost his side.
