Tonight Hodur Magnússon is starting away to Roma in the Champions League.

Is there anyone who has made such a jump up the season after leaving us? I know the Russian league isn’t the best, but to play Champions League is phenomenal, so well done Maggers!

Ryan Kent is playing in the europa league.

I’ll say that again. Ryan Kent, pony in the championship is playing in the Europa League.

As with Mags, says more about the domestic league quality they’ve moved to than anything else. Easier to be in Europe when your domestic league is rubbish, so a far bigger leap is from say the 5th biggest league in Europe (ours), to the 1st or 2nd (the prem).

With that in mind, the only answer to your question is Ralph Milne.

Why is Ralph Milne the ‘only answer to your question’?!

Wes Burns played as the first ever BCFC player to feature in Champions League ( or was it Europa?) whilst on loan at Aberdoom.

Other than that- Jon Akinde made the jump up to being a secret agent whilst at the gas and was instrumental in getting them nowhere.

I don’t think Aberdeen has ever been in the champions league.....

Top shout....he wasn’t loaned, he joined Viking permanently and did indeed notch vs Chelsea in the UEFA Cup...

Just checked and you're right - he was loaned to Woking of all places before he went to Viking. Horrified to learn that Ben Wright is now 38. 38!

Swings and roundabouts...How does playing for Yate town one year, then turning out for Andorra in Euro 2000 qualification float your lemons?

Just goes to show how tough the championship is, worldwide... and how easy it is for us fans to just forget that...especially when you compare it with football abroad.

It all looks fancy pants, and technically brilliant when you watch, lets say a Portuguese 2nd division game, yet put that up against the technical, physical, mental side of the Championship over a season and you realise how far we are as a Club worldwide. Little Ol ' Bristol City...sitting 10th in the 5th toughest league in the WORLD.

Easy for us to just brush over.

Hörður...brought up with Juve, playing World Cup football with Iceland, now playing in Russia, and now up against Roma...yet was 'average' in the Championship.

Just shows how tough this league is overall.

It's all about fit...you have to be able to fit in this league. Hence why some Prem players struggle in the championship.
