ScottishRed
Very interesting read - and totally laudable and astonishing in today's football world.
cidered abroad
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Athletic_Bilbao The history of this unique club is via the link. They are very passionate about their Basque origins and about football. To me the most significant point made in the Guardian article is that thirteen of twenty one under 19's squad are also studying for university degrees. If they make it in football, then the old adage about the top two inches of a footballer, will be very true. It also means that if they don't become professional players, they will have enough alternatives for a career. I'm in total admiration and wish that, at BCFC, we could operate our Academy in a similar fashion.
