FA to enforce bigger changing rooms in non-league

While the rules have existed for a while the FA have often overlooked them, apparently they will now be enforcing the rule and step 3/4 clubs will face relegation to step 5 if they don't have correct sized changing rooms by July 31st. Someone made the good point on twitter that the FA could try getting the money the premier league should owe them from tv money etc to help, rather than pushing it on clubs who struggle financially anyway.

Needs to be sorted from the bottom up - have gotten changed in all sorts of crap across Bristol. Think the worst was a discarded shipping container converted into a makeshift changing room. Barely enough room to put a sock on. Was awful when one of our team let one rip.

The downs is truly awful considering the cost the council charge , disgraceful really.

The Downs is it's own separate league though isn't it? As in, you can't get promoted from the Downs into a league or relegated into a league? It operates outside the FA pyramid system?

But agree, it is shit. As are most of the park-based pitches in Bristol sadly.

Hallelujah !.....when are people gonna stop pretending that the sentiment exists that ANYBODY in football is prepared to relinquish anything they have for the benefit of somebody else  ?!  The 'Premier League ' has been in existence now for 25 years and is awash with  NEW money that football could have only 'dreamed of ' prior to it's formation and aren't they a prime example of the 'trickle down' theory of economics eh ? :grr:

No, trickle down does work! The rich get the champagne and the poor get pissed on.

An old railway carriage at Shipham.

Two teams changing in the small attic at Blagdon with the steepest narrowest staircase imaginable.

Affiliated yes, but I expect since it operates outside the pyramid it loses out on funding to other leagues. However, that isn't any reason to put fees up by >50% (I had no idea the increase was that much) without any improvement to the playing surface, or facilities for players/coaches/referees/spectators. Some may argue 'it's just a park' but every weekend that park is occupied by a plethora of amateur football!

Thing is, maybe in 'third-world' countries you might expect this. But surely not in the UK? Sadly, it seems as though you've had equally bizarre experiences playing amateur football as me!
