Coppello
A friend notified me that, to my disbelief, Steve Bruce wrote a trilogy of football crime thriller novels in the 90s. It is all based around a manager called Steve Barnes, who played for 'Mulchester United' and had a remarkably similar career to the author before his glittering writing career. The book is based around the manager finding his striker murdered in the changing rooms and he goes on an exciting journey to discover who committed the crime. Anyway, the book is reviewed on the Quickly Kevin football podcast and it is pretty hilarious. Not sure if his trilogy was common knowledge but thought it was worth sharing. David Brent
Good for him. Must be great to do what you enjoy doing.
Dingbat
This pops up every now and again, and is a source of great embarrassment for Bruce whenever he's asked about it, which quite frankly only makes it funnier (if that were possible). The Set Pieces review on it is also well worth a read - https://thesetpieces.com/features/sweeper-steve-bruce-review/
'Orns
Only knew about this from the QUickly Kevin podcast, the episodes on this are excellent New series started last week, worth a listen, despite the 90s being my least favourite decade for football

pongo88
The 1970s TV series “Hazel” was co-written by Terry Venables and Gordon Williams.
BTRFTG
I used to have book supposedly written by Jimmy Greaves. Utter rubbish and forget what it was titled but it did have a decent cover, in a Cramps, ' Bikini Girls With Machine-Guns' kind of way.
