Can anybody work out what we’re trying to play? Not a LJ bash.

Just genuinely interested..

Going back to how we played on our run last season. Lots of good footballers trying to unlock the defence & high press. Keeping it tight in midfield as well. That's what I see in this line up. Just a shame we're missing Bobby!!

Maenpaa

Pisano, Kalas, Webster, Kelly

Adelakun, Pack, Walsh, Eliasson

Paterson

Weimann

I suspect, although Adelakun and Eliasson might be the other way around.

If it’s not either of those variants, then LJ is trying to be (too) clever.

What concerns me is Lee admits Walsh can only play in a three man central midfield and only him and pack in the centre tonight. He is normally right so worrying.

If we play like we did at points last season with Paterson in the side, he will sit in front of Pack and Walsh and be part of a 5 when we are out of possession. This might be how we plan to support Walsh.

Problem with that is you need your wingers to push further up in a 5 and only Weimann to aim at. Hope I'm proven wrong but not sure we have the personel for it.

Maybe Pack arriving late into the box? You never know he might be up front.

You are taking a risk fronting up this Peg old sock , I tried to take the flack for you but my fingers tremble with nerves faced with my keyboard and I was like a like a super model ( a little behind ) .

Good luck .

Genuinely confused. No idea what you're on about Maj.

Have you taken a bottle of Voddy out of Tommy's cabinet?

The personnel concern me as well, we just aren't as strong in that area of the pitch as we were last year. I would guess the idea would be to press from the front and win it back as opposed to aiming long.

I predict that we will score no goals and have one shot on target tonight (if we are lucky).

Just have to hope that Ipswich are as bad and we get a 0-0 draw.

All in all, it has the feel of a very dull game.

I'm hoping for Fulham away last year, however I am expecting and fearing Wigan/Rotherham this year.

Not sure I like that, not very threatening imo.

4-3-3

pisano.  Kalas.   Webster.  Kelly

                       Pack

               Kelly.         Pato

adelekun.   Weinman.    elliason

this is what I’ve been waiting for. With Elsa to come on , a front 3 with pace for the counter.

Now this I would like, if it was the case. Obviously a typo with Walsh playing in the middle instead of Kelly.

Walsh is better in a midfield 3 and I like the look of that front 3.

With the squad we have, I’d play 433 every week.

Ipswich are there for the taking, absolutely dreadful.

Even City can't contrive to cock this one up.

2-0 City.

Walsh free kick, and Adelakun 20 yarder.

COME ON CITY.

Yeah why not . I’ll be positive with you . 3-1 - Patterson definitely with one( plus an assist ) , Weimann -and err ..someone else ..

we’ll get a fortunate decision - like a sending off or beach ball incident ( Sunderland /Liverpool )

fair play also to those that have gone there . Huge respect as always
