The morals of 2 different sports

If any of you follow the NFL the Kansas City Chiefs are having a good season and their running back, Kareem Hunt, is having a stellar season and is in the top 2 rb's this season.

It was rumoured back in February he'd assaulted a woman the team had him in for a interview and he denied everything, then yesterday the video in the link was released, by whom to TMZ is under debate rumour has it it was another NFL team, within an hour of the video being released Hunt was sacked. He probably will never play in the NFL again.

Can you imagine this happening to a top player in the prem/la liga/bundesliga?

Owner of the video should have produced it immediately back in Feb...  (loses moral ground for delay..why?) …better late than never though and hopefully leads to a meaningful criminal prosecution of the aggressor no matter who he is.

Loss of career? .. So what? .. Good! ..

I hope the bastard gets banged up in prison for several years - The lying KHUNT deserves nothing less!

It's a prime example of what can go on, but in this case is captured by video. No doubt there will have been many, many incidents that have happened in the past but have not had this level of exposure to the wider world. That in itself is one aspect of the amount of opinion being expressed. Now he has been shown the door, it remains to be seen if he will return in some capacity - it's not inconceivable. The Chiefs have taken a strong grip over the situation and will be lauded by many. Will they still be lauded if the don't make progress for the remaining season?

We had a similar debate in Britain over the Ched Evans affair. For a lot of people he would have spent many years inside and would never be let anywhere near a football ground again. His subsequent retrial and acquittal puts a different slant on things but the dilemma is about whether a club (and fans) would take back a convict. Crime and punishment are hot topics that create passions almost as fierce as football.

Current high profile footballers in Europe face the same (if not more intrusive) perils of video surveillance, as do we all. I suspect that if one was found to have been involved with a violent incident like this then it may well boil down to how highly they are rated as a player against the severity of the crime. Head versus heart.
