Red Army 75
IMO I reckon that is a good appointment for Wednesday. At villa the expectations were huge . Wednesday are a very big club but the expectations are a little bit more realistic I would of thought. Maybe part of Villa pay-off was not allowed to work in championship until after Jan window as he would know players contracts and could go poaching at villa using that knowledge? Its also a fact that Bruce has a big redundancy pay off from Villa to spend Its not hard to put two and two together from that and work out what he’s doing for the next month. Dr Balls
I can't imagine too many Owls fans are worried if he doesn't start until February because since Lee Bullen has come in as caretaker and brought back all the players sidelined by the Ron Mael lookalike, they have being going quite well. Owl Visiting
We've known it was going to be him for a while but pleased it's been confirmed. His record is good at this level so can't complain. It's strange he isn't starting till February though, especially as the transfer window has just opened. Conspiracy theories going round that it's to do with avoiding paying Villa compensation. Nothing seems to be straight forward at Wednesday at the moment. 8 points over Christmas was a big improvement though and was unfortunate not to be 12. Ian66
The reason for the February start doing the rounds in Sheffield is that Bruce lost both his parents during the course of last year and when he got sacked from Villa he took the opportunity to arrange a proper family Christmas and new year that he'd obviously not had for a long time and those commitments don't end until February. Stephen Clemence and Steve Agnew have been appointed as his assistants and start immediately with Bullen retained in some other coaching capacity The interesting thing for us is why he would come to a club who are in the knife edge of FFP (just 1 full signing last Jan and 2 loan players this summer - plus Hunt outgoing). The feeling (hope!) is that some workaround of FFP has been found and Bruce has been given assurances of that before committing. The next month will tell us a lot more

I'm not sure we'd get £20m for them to be honest but even if we did the figures doing the rounds are that we need that much just to stave off any FFP sanctions at the end of the season Unfortunately the Chairman is very naive in transfer matters and we've missed so many opportunities to cash in and re invest...Forestieri was being touted at £15m 18 months ago, we'd be lucky to get £3m now....Westwood's contract ends in the summer and looks like leaving for nothing.....there's many such examples which is why we are in the state we are
