Shame but nowt you can do when a player’s not signing on, may as well take the cash whilst his stock is high.

My first thought was along these lines - might be that we don’t see him wanting to stay/sign on longer with us, so need to get some value while it’s there.

Personally hope that we might be wanting him back to play him, as the prospects of us getting a striker in are low.

Guess we’ll know more soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if City were working on this.

Players on a season-long loan can be recalled by parent clubs in the January transfer window but only if the two clubs have agreed a recall clause in advance. A loan deal can be cancelled at any time in the season if both clubs concerned agree.

Eisa out on loan to lg1 to get game time.

Semenyo recalled as cover/ genuine first team competition now that he’s played games and impressed.

Can’t see the Chelsea move happening.

Seems odd to announce the recall at 8:30pm on a Sunday night though.

Unless something else has fallen through and we want to be fair to Newport and give them an extra day to get someone else in - only four days to play with now.

Can't see him being sold unless there's lots of add-ons too.  If he's apparently worth £2 million now (if bids are true), surely we'd want to develop him a bit more and really reap the £££.  Financially it doesn't make much sense as it's not much in todays market for a striker, especially someone with bags of potential.

Personally think we're struggling to bring in a striker for reasonable money, so we're looking to integrate him into the first time.  Perhaps asking alot of a youngster but could be one of those cases of 'if you're good enough, you're old enough'. It's not unusual for 18-20 year olds to find regular game time at our level if they are talented.

It's unreal.... in the Bristol football community playing wise everyone knows everyone and that's current players or ex players in the south west especially if you've played a decent standard yourself so yes it was posted we have a recall option but that doesn't tell you the whole picture but he'll certainly be staying at Newport till end of season

Oops.

Like the time he signed David James.

Apparently SL did consult the Manager as to if he'd want the 'England Keeper'. What he didn't explain is that it would take his entire transfer budget for the entire year :cool2:

Well just think of last January window

Or buying Eisa and never playing him

Or signing on loan Diony and Kent

I could go on..........

Webster

Kalas,

Da Silva

Palmer

Hunt

There is no club that gets all it's transfers spot on and recently we have been doing a lot better than we were even 5/6 years ago.

Or you could think about signing Webster, Da Silva, maepenaa, Kalas, hunt, Diedhiou, Eliasson, the list goes on.

Of course I could be wrong, but would you not count them as 'sensible' bits of business?
