Are you serious?

Thats just asking for trouble and maybe there sits the problem.

Justifying all those extra man hours.

Posted in another thread mate, helps the overtime claims that are submitted or plod just want bubble games

Hmm perhaps I spoke too soon

policing operation still ongoing  following disorder post match in the park between Swansea and city fans .

Real shame after all the planning and positive comments to get this game as normal as possible.

Cctv and other footage will be reviewed

Back in the day you used to lock us in until you moved all home fans on. I’ve been kept in ninian Park for over a hour before but it works. A blind man could see what would happen letting everyone out together . Not condoning violence of course but it was good to have sum edge back to a game for a change rather than the usual subdued atmosphere. These will be bubble games next season now.

I’m sorry but planning to give them the whole away end and a 3pm kick off is a complete joke. 1pm kick off and 2k tickets next time is better planning

No it’s not kicking off.

some small groups of Swansea fans drinking in bedminster , but moved on by police. No disorder .

Plenty going On.  In The Park, Hotwells  Rd.  OB dropped the ball letting us all out together, bearing in mind a number of Swanea turned up within tickets and are eventually let in after about 1/2 hour!!!

Good decision letting them out straightaway

Match Commanders first game ?

Problems during the game could’ve been avoided if properly policed today.

Yes, idiots from Swansea but baffling policing @JulieH

Anyone with an ounce of common sense could have predicted what was going to happen when you allow a mob of Swansea to arrive in the ground late then let them do what they want.

Yes, idiot football fans but if that’s the level of competence needed to be a match day commander, I’ll sign up my toddler now.

Emabarrssing, but unsurprising.

The Police were unaware of any trouble in BS3 as they were too busy escorting Swansea’s main hooligan hardcore in the centre

Talk about planning . Not one police officer insight when it kicked off in the ground , embarrassing planning as I could tell you it might get a little tense . Asked one of your colleagues after why Swansea where let out at the same time as us and he said it was the clubs decision , hindsight being wonderful surely you guys could see the potential in the park .

Care to elaborate?

There was a scuffle of some sort on the east side of the park where you are pinched in to the route to the garden centre.  We were on the west side so legged it to the Plimsole Bridge.

Loads of OB inc Five police horses

Shocked the away support weren't held back. There had been signs of disorder earlier: bunch of Swans escorted through Spike Island clearly drunk+not co-operating never going to make it to the match on time.  Noticed half a dozen S Wales police riot vans.  Recognised them from the last Stokes Croft riot!  Must have been expecting something.

Happened to chance upon the escort on my way back, a huge number being taken along Anchor Road towards the Centre.

Not sure what their final destination was going to be, but if it was Temple Meads, they were taking the less than direct route.

I'm sure the escorts used to use the old rail track beside Cumberland Rd but that's a metrobus route now, I think.

No.

all groups that came in late had tickets.

A group of approx 400 arrived at 15.20 and  had tickets .

That’s quite a large number so it does beg the question how Avon and Somerset’s finest couldn’t spot them, round them up and get them on their way to AGin time for 3pm

That said, it was entertaining seeing all the Green Street wannabes strutting in an acting like cocks. Certainly upped the atmosphere a notch.

Hopefully Julie H can spot the pricks chucking coins from the away end

Makes a mockery of the fact the police have a riot squad stood infront of Section 82 corner whenever there’s a big game.

If they station themselves infront of the away end the incident with fighting Inside the ground doesn’t happen.

Always baffled me that, and always made me feel like I was a criminal for standing up and watching a football match, being eyeballed for 90 minutes by police and stewards.

Maybe the police will have learnt a basic lesson - if there is likely to be trouble inside the ground, it’s likely to be near the segregated area, not at the opposite corner.
