Unfortunately I am used to it?

I don’t mind tbh, happy to take questions on anything but ultimately as already been quoted on here the 1% of so called fans seemed intent on serious disorder and sought it all day , either pre and during the match and definitely post match . It’s sad that people I know who were there with children were frightened by the fighting, and subsequent police actions, it is not something that should be acceptable just for supporting your football team.

Is cctv available to identify and ban these morons?

My observations, which @BigAlToby&Liam also mentions, was that the atmosphere certainly changed with the arrival of the Swansea latecomers. You could clearly see from my view at the Southstand end of the Dolman they entered in at the left hand side and made their way to the right hand side. I don’t know why they were allowed to move across the stand as they did. Also why was there no netting ( that I could see) in the RH corner.

So if I had to recommend action for the future: Latecomers are not allowed to move to already packed areas of a stand. Netting at both corners, a limited help but it is a barrier. Don’t let fans out at the same time.

There was black netting in both the left and right hand corners....this was ripped up by late arriving Swansea yobs so they could stand there.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure as that corner is along my line of sight from my position. Well that netting didn’t work then!

Given everyone knows you're likely to be identified inside a stadium these days, the average IQ of attending City fans will surely rise after these bans.

One positive at least.

Especially the 2/3 who jumped the barrier to run at Swansea fans. I seriously hope they enjoy there 5 minutes of fame with there mates as they will end up with lifetime bans from Ashton gate and 5 year banning orders, passports being handed in when England play and a nice fine. Possibly lose there job...

Clearly if it’s aimed at a 10 year old child that is different and it goes without saying that you did the correct thing, took his badge number and made a formal complaint rather than laughing at him and saying thanks.

Actually no I did not - I challenged him (without swearing) but I was annoyed and did shout and then got threatened with arrest (full of foul abuse) if I continued and I had 2 x 10 year olds with me who were frightened and scared - I should have said would mind not shouting so I can make a note of your number and complain formally but my priority was to get the little ones away

Not really arguing over this but it is not right and in my 40 years of watching City I have seen plenty of diabolical and unwarranted abuse and violence from the custodians of the law directed at supporters - does not make it right that they get it but it is their job - my big Bother was Old Bill he used to enjoy the footy games so not all of them are made to attend and put up with the minority hooligans -  he use to volunteer!

I'd love to know who thinks these pre game escorts are a good idea? Especially ones that arrive 20 minutes late winding up the away fans who then goad home fans.

Doesnt work with our fans away,  see the damage done to the Great Western in 2013 and doesn't work here.

Public transport and escorts for games like this is ridiculous.

I did think when seeing that whether they would sober up and wonder if what they did was ever with it, especially for the idiot who goaded the fans when we scored only then to have the goal ruled out. Double idiot that one!

You seriously think that if there was no escorts that fans would be better behaved? Yesterday for example?

I did find it quite funny that when they got to the Swansea fans, they didn’t have a clue what to do, so threw a few aimless soft punches and ran away - embarrassing.

I’m sat in the lower Dolman near where all the trouble started. What made me laugh was some fat bloke who looked like he was in his sixties charging down the steps towards the Swansea fans. It’s amazing how people get caught by the excitement of a punch up.

Yes I do. Yesterday's trouble in the ground seemed to be caused by an escort arriving late. Everything was fine before then.

It delayed the inevitable. Those in that escort were clearly intent on causing trouble, it has been suggested that’s why they were late. My opinion is that if they had been there on time, it probably would have kicked off earlier.

Not sure everything was fine? Probably because there was 150/200 police officers making sure everything was fine!

Hopefully, meeting and reviewing club cctv on Tuesday .

Police evidence gatherers footage being downloaded and will review that also

But that’s too easy isn’t it.

Create or allow a situation to develop that lets these ***** behave as they do, then issue them with banning orders.

Christ almighty it sounds so easy even I could do it.

Meanwhile those fundamentally responsible for creating or allowing the situation to develop pat themselves heartily on their backs congratulating themselves on a job well done.

And you’re right. You didn’t describe it as a success. Because it wasn’t. Mistakes were made that allowed the mindless idiots to take the shine off what was a superb result.

But listen. You choose to ignore facts and review cctv and body cam footage. Then identify them and ban them.

That’ll do it.

Until next time when I fear similar decisions will be made so you can review more cctv and body cam footage....

Stevie Wonder could have seen that releasing both sets of fans at the same time when there had been earlier argy bargy would have only one sorry outcome.

Jesus Christ. Is it really that difficult?

@JulieH - firstly, thank-you for your time you spend answering and responding to queries on here, I think it's a very worthwhile line of communication.

Here's my gripe, you yourself have said it's 1% of the match day attendance that is intent on causing trouble. Why then do your colleagues have to treat the other 99% like the same sort of scum?

If I started calling people/kids(!) pr1cks and swearing at them, I'd probably be in the back of one of your vans.

1% of football fans were looking for trouble yesterday, yes, and of course they are morons are morons. The % of police officers doing the same was far greater. What measures will be taken to ensure they don't behave the same? No doubt you'll be posting pictures of fans faces in the paper in the next week or two banning from football grounds etc, any chance police officers will get the same treatment? Some really need to be kept away.

I don't want to jump to conclusions about blame, but I have to say the bit about releasing fans at the same time beggars belief.

I was glad I left early. Was chatting to the chap next to me at 75 mins and said I couldn't remember the last time the police held anyone back at AG. What happened was completely inevitable imo.

Driving along Clift House Road I could see it kicking off and wondered if I was a few minutes later my van might have been targeted. Very threatening atmosphere.

If you get 100s of fans on both sides intent on trouble you will get trouble. It is nothing to do with ticket allocation (they will travel with out tickets), time of arrival (most of the trouble was post match), letting them out at the end (trouble makers will wait for them) or over zealous policing (unless it is miners strike style brutal policing).

On a separate point nobody has mentioned the fighting near St Mary Redcliffe school. I saw Heddlu vans pass me by Asda but when I got to the school there were 30-40 City and Swansea fighting all teenagers with no police to be seen.

Can't for the life work out how to embed it on this page, but there's a great vid doing the rounds on one of the city pages of a dog handler falling arse over tit over a wall as his beast of doom legs it away to maul another police dog. Reading this thread, the vid appears to sum up the kind of day Avon & Somerset enjoyed ?

Bit of a dog's dinner I'd say.

Need to get a better dog-handler.

I believe Darrell's looking for a new job.

As I said on another thread in my experience these very slow escorts are designed to winde you up and ensure you are late for the game. Apparently they left at 1.30. So 2 hours to walk about 1mile or perhaps they went via Avonmouth.
