I get the joke but just thought I'd add...

There's a video on the City Til I Die FB page of the handbags in the park post game. Rozzers on horse back and with dogs.

One Rozzer has his woof ready to go and accidentally drops the lead. Woof pegs it, not going for anyone, just wants to play. Cue rozzer chasing the dog and the dog having none of it.

FENTON!

Brilliant......the whole scene was just like the Keystone Cops....overweight Rozzers running over to join their mates in some rough and tumble, puffing and panting, holding onto their hats with one hand, waving their truncheons in the air with the other. Horses scaring the shit out of families and young kids, absolutely pathetic from the OB. And the 4 woofs fighting each other was the icing on the cake.  And we pay their wages....?

There was no disorder before the game in bedminster

The Jacks owned the knights today (and may have been rowdy ) but they were well behaved if dancing on tables permissible and it was a cracking atmosphere to be in.

Utter rubhish blaming the police. Try blaming the danny dyer wannabe's who were looking for trouble. Absolutely pathetic.

to bring this to the attention of our police liaison officer ASAP.

one Swansea fan in the away end gesturing several nazi salutes towards the dolman at full time.

about 25 wearing a blue red and white puffer coat

Disgusting.

I'll never understand people like that. The Luftwaffe/Nazis caused immense damage in both Bristol and Swansea.

But then you might need a smidgeon of education to know that.

Incompetence in a given role was the general thrust of the post.

Its easy to blame what the police do. Any old excuse to put the blame on them and not the braindead idiots from both clubs. Clubs need to come down hard on these idiots. Lifetime bans.

Apparently, a load arrived without tickets and were let in around the 18 minute mark.

Also apparently, a load arrived from a police escort around the 18 minute mark.

A group did arrive under police escort at approx 3.20 . All had tickets .

Jeez I'll have to take a butch at this. IIRC we once played Swansea in the pouring rain (for a change) and the Old Bill parked up their vans in Greville Smythe Park.  Once the usual shenanigans had been dealt with post match, the vans were full of the arrested ones. Vans gears were selected, the wheels spun round and mud flew everywhere...and the vans went no where. The prisoners were then asked to get out the back (and still handcuffed) push the rozzers vans out of the mud....it was true keystone cops stuff. I (among several others) just buckled laughing at the sheer idiotic sight of it all

Agreed. If everyone behaved we wouldn't need the police at all. Nothing I've ever done has necessitated a police presence in my lifetime.

Naive? Yes.

Julie, I'm not one to knock the police, i know there have been loads of cuts etc which makes things difficult, and I'm at the other end so I may be wrong, but why on earth was there virtually no police presence inside the ground today? From where I was stood poor stewards were left to deal with the morons at the Swansea end.

Mainly because we escorted a large group in , and also dealt with moving  * city fans* away from Ashton road at the same time Very difficult to be in 2 places at the same time ,

The stewards, from my vantage point, appear to be paid to do little more than stand in fluorescent jackets.

No coordination. Rabbits in headlights.

Today highlights which tools are the sharpest in the box. More like spoons than knives.

@JulieH this is a genuine question. Several years ago when we played at the Vetch me and my old dad were amongst several thousands who were kept in the ground after the game. It was a night game and we were then held junction by junction outside the ground as we walked back to our car. Dogs galore and helicopters above.

Today we see the late arrival of Swansea fans, understandably miffed to have missed the start, it then kicks off in the corner, the police aren’t about, a yoof runs down to the front, climbs over the barriers, swings punches then throws his white cap to the ground as he disappears back into the Dolman.

Then it seems it’s playtime for those who “fancy a bit” over in Greville Smythe.....

Can’t see how that can be called a success.....

I haven’t called the policing operation a success

we have had a number of officers injured, disorder in a park and many genuine fans from both teams subject to seeing grown men fighting violently . In my book that is not a success .

hold backs can be requested if there is a risk of disorder occurring , prematch although challenging did not present any disorder between sets of fans.  A hold back is a very serious preventative measure and was widely used back then, however is less well used now. It was not a measure that was considered by the safety officer or the policing team at this event.

The late arrival of fans were escorted by police , and one of the group who came into the pitch was detained by stewards and handed to police. We expect more arrests.

No I thought that and the bloke sitting next to me did .

I think it makes for a great atmosphere when it is full, especially when we are winning.

Did look like it was overflowing from where I  was stood

No.  A lot of empty space up at the back. There semed to be more when Man U came for the cup and when Leeds were there last year.  It was just that Swansea fans didn't spread out in their seats, they were all bunched up down at the front

You really are joking.

1st) Paragraph you say about all the trouble.

2nd) Paragraph you explain that hold backs are a very serious preventive measure and wasnt used becsuse you didnt expect any trouble!!!!!!

Did you think everyone was going to have a big hug in the park after the game! There was a clue to there being FURTHER trouble due to the 2 sets of fans clashing on the pitch, or did you miss that!!! Maybe you did, it wouldnt surprise me.

I’m absolutely certain that they quite rightly will etc.

Still a massively incompetent job done though. I think we can all agree on that.

If an apology is needed, yes.

Don’t worry, we have a transparent, diligent regulatory board that ensures the police proceed with all ethical and regulatory care.

If it hasn’t they are swiftly held to account.

Hi Julie H, I don't know how long you have been policing football matches but City v Swansea has always been a high risk game, forget all the we both hate Cardiff bollocks, most knew today would see problems and yet you were here yesterday telling Swansea that they were welcome to visit the city centre and they would be welcome to drink on the waterfront, I have been following City for over 40 years and never been advised when we are taking 3500 odd away that we can go and drink in city centres. I really do think that A & S wanted problems so they can issue a load of banning orders. I have always had respect for the police but get them at a game with a baton and they are a different breed, almost waiting for problems to start rather than stopping them .

I have been policing football matches for 20 yrs and the one thing I regularly get spoken to by fans is to treat every game not based on historical evidence but what is being presented for that match.

swansea drank in the city centre in the same way city drank in Swansea city centre, I have been present at numerous away games where city fans are able to drink freely in city centres and vice versa . In fact prior to bubble matches v Cardiff city were able to drink in city centre pubs then !

There was no disorder in the city centre

I can assure you that the last thing I need is another enquiry like this where we need to spend more police hours investigating serious disorder , and then on conviction applying for a banning order. I would much rather the game passed without any incident , but it hasn’t and therefore that is what we shall do.

We have had 4 police officers injured today and 1 police dog , and the offenders for that and serious disorder offences should be brought to trial .
