I know it’s an easier interview when you’re winning, but I liked the honesty re Semenyo.

Very good interview. Nice to hear the reasoning behind bringing Semenyo back , it does sound like there is a good atmosphere around the club. When I first heard that it was SL that wanted AS to come back, I had serious doubts. When you hear the explanation it makes more sense.

LJ has talked a LOT of BS at times, but that interview seemed a good honest assessment - particularly good to hear him recognising we have room for improvement.

Clear he wanted another striker. Funny how he kept using the phrase “throw my toys out the pram” throughout the window. 

I like that SL stepped in. LJ needs to realise he’s here for the foreseeable future and needs to stop being coy when it comes to our youngsters.

I do think there will’ve been a bit of (tongue in cheek):

SL: so Lee, you want to spend £12m on Assombolonga or a couple of million loan and wages where we have no asset

LJ: yeah I need cover for Fam

SL: cover, so he’s not a replacement then?

LJ: well, when I said cover, I meant to share the minutes with Fam

SL: so our record signing isn’t good enough then?  You convinced our Jon to spend £5.3m on him!

LJ: yeah, we’ll, what do you suggest then...we are doing well?

SL: what about bring young Antione back from Newport?  He can be cover.

LJ: yeah, that’s what I thought, I didn’t really want Britt.  Thanks Dad, err, I mean Mr Lansdown
