From Wanderers to Wembley

Possibly the most debated subject this week as the possibility of another play off final goes from zero in December to 'slight' with this great run. It seems many of us will see the Wolves game in defeat or with injury to key players as a reason our league run may not continue.

I have been on the fence most of the week; Risk injuries to valuable first teamers or rush players back in from rehab or rotate the huge squad .. OR go all out with best team on Sunday, what to do??.

Now the weekend is here I am going for the latter. IF we win (big IF) there may only be 4 better teams than us in the draw and a Cup Final could be the best thing ever? Whatever we think and debate  re Wolves at least we are all 100% behind Lj these days and the team's league push, starting at Carrow Road

Go strong. Injuries happen on the training ground and are a risk to players at all times and not just games.

Wins and performance breed confidence. I felt if we turned round that poor first half last week it what help us against Wolves.

I now feel a strong performance tomorrow showing we can do it against what is an exciting, quality prem team will give us a chance to upset Norwich even though it is as their place.

Our squad depth is strong and we can cope better with one or two knocks or cases of fatigue.

Go at them with a strong XI giving the 2 or 3 unlucky to be left out of starting a game.

Wiemann will not be risked even if fit so Eliasson in. Palmer for Pato and part of me wants Taylor to start just to see if plan B works in case of issues with Famara later on.

Agree with this. Did LJ give any more info on the other injury? I would love Morrell and Semenyo on the bench , but I think I'd swap promotion ( and almost inevitable relegation ) for winning the FA Cup. Then again,  I'd also like both , thank you

It would be really buzzing if we were to win, however I do think the enormity of a QF to come would bound to detract from the task in hand of staying in the play-off places. So as long as we don't get a big defeat, I won't be that upset if we go out and I'm hoping Derby can overcome Brighton and have the focus of FA Cup QF to distract them!

Semenyo can't play in the cup

Semenyo is cup tied so you won’t see him on the bench.

Anyone else think this thread was about Bolton getting to the Freight Rover final in '86 against us?!

Yes, caught me out. Memories of Ford cortinas and Vauxhall Cavaliers travelling up to Wembley with flags out the Windows. The odd Talbot Alpine broken down on the side. We drove up in a escort "ghia" what a motor. Shame it wasn't a RS'

Go for the win. Keep the ball rolling. Hope for a favourable draw in a QF and go for the win then as well.

If we were to make a playoff final what better possible preparation could there be than having already played a big game at Wembley a month before. For a relatively young squad, that could be a huge advantage

Our form in the league when distracted by a cup QF against Man Utd last season:

Sunderland (A) - Win 2-1

Fulham (A) - Win 2-0

Cardiff (H) - Win 2-1

Sheff Wed (A) - Draw 0-0

Preston (H) - Lose 2-1

Hull (A) - Win 3-2

Middlesbrough (H) - Win 2-1

Sheff Utd (A) - Win 2-1

Nottm Forest (H) - Win 2-1

Winning is intoxicating and I bloody love it. Lets keep it going and make 'yet another Bristol City victory' part of the lexicon.

If (when ) we win tomorrow then I eagerly await the "they weren't that good, how on Earth have they gone 14 15 16 games unbeaten?" comments.

Some went up on one of those old yellow City darts,

They were awesome! Remember one particular journey on no4 from Hanham to Frenchay to Bristol Poly campus, female driver was sideways almost everywhere! Great throttle control.

I got thrown off a city dart in about 86 on the way to the Gate. Typical lads, bottle of natch about 12, jump on the bus giggling like girls and trying to be irritating to all.

Saw the sign on the little red break glass hammer saying this is alarmed and did not believe it so helped myself and then the siren went off - doh.

Get off - luckily we were by our stop and made the game about 3:20 which in those days was the norm for many - football was not exactly riveting at the time !!

Those darts were terrible, why did the drivers think they were driving go-carts?

Controversial, I’d prefer an FA cup final to a play off final.

Tbh I’d probably take an FA cup win over promotion too
