Flying under the radar.

It's the "expert" pundits that are not talking about us. Wednesday night, all results in and they're discussing the table. Norwich, Leeds and Sheffield all mentioned as top three. then a little gap to fourth, with Middlesborough in sixth and Derby in seventh. It's just very frustrating that if it were any other team, that seen as unfashionable, they'd be mentioned.

‘Twas always thus , even in the old days of the First Division there would be match analysis for every game then at the foot of the page where the Football coverage finished there would be a sentence something like ‘ Manchester United lost three nil at Old Trafford to Bristol City ‘

In those days it was difficult to get information on the club outside of the Bristol Evening Post or the Green’un .

Times have changed but attitudes are hard er to alter and  if we get promoted and do well be prepared to be overlooked and patronised in equal measure.

I'm fully aware that it's always been as such. It doesn't help when our own supporters do not realise the potential of the club or  know anything about the City we represent and portray us to lookers on, as a small club in a small city. In actual terms and perception, our stint in the old first division is recognised by football followers of a certain age, who quote our players names from those times. Sadly those with historical knowledge are not represented in the popular media. It's up to us as a club and supporters, to change that perception. Speaking to a broad spectrum of people on my travels, it would appear we are now getting noticed, just a little.
