The Official Gurt Big Run-In Thread™

What's up, guys?

I've cobbled together all of the remaining fixtures for all of our theoretical playoff competitors (well, okay... I copied a list I found on the Preston forum. I may have too much time on my hands but I am also lazy.)

And yes, I have essentially written us off for automatic promotion by omitting the current top 3; raging pessimist that I am.

My 2p:

  • Our run in doesn't actually look as bad as I imagined it would when written down like this
  • Derby's looks very presentable, bar a couple of tricky away trips in April. But, they are also Derby, so....
  • Sheff Wed have quietly been putting a very good run together, but their fixture list is brutal to say the least. Hard to see them keeping it up.
  • Forest may well be the team to watch. Generating less hype than Preston or Brentford, despite just taking 4 points off them. And have as easy a run-in as anyone, with the vast majority of their 'tougher' games at the City ground.
  • I'm not really sure why I included Villa downwards.
  • But Millwall were 9 points off in 13th at this stage last season and did make it to 6th at one point - so who knows. Championship, eh?

Let the angst and the agonising commence!

Our April looks brutal to me?!

April is the reason we won't make the top 6 - our fixtures and the pile-up look horrible.  The squad will be on their knees, and will probably be about 10th come the end.

I really feel the club should have complained to the EFL about the fixture build up.

Partly blame the Metropolitan Police and Millwall who both did not want the rearranged game on either 5th or 6th March. Apparently, despite knowing of the fixture change from 16th February onwards, they both agreed there was insufficient time to put the necessary "security" in place. What a load of cobblers.
