Preston North End v Bristol City Match Day 34

Reasons to be cheerful:

We gained a point on the three teams below us, who all lost.

There's one less game for the chasing pack to catch us.

We're 4 points clear of 8th with a game in hand, and Derby's form is worse than ours.

We have ended the losing streak and for the first time since 1857 we didn't lose to Preston.

Our useless striker scored twice this week.

6th place is in our hands, and looks very acheivable in a season few of us expected much from.

Keep the faith, and keep some perspective too!

Late push from us but we were largely mediocre, especially in the second half. We seem to draw far too many games at home. Good point for you, especially given the other results in the play-off chasing pack. Win your game in hand and you're in an excellent position, especially with Derby seemingly dropping like a stone.

Not a great match, but let’s put it into perspective. Preston were on a good unbeaten run but City made them look ordinary. A solid, if a bit dull, performance just lacking a bit of attacking flair.

Better 2nd half, Semenyo a handful. Handled their long ball stuff comfortably, soft goal to concede, O’Dowda has got to improve when defending. Kelly ok, targeted once he had the yellow card. Really not sure about Wiemann right now.

I would drop Weimann, he is not doing nearly enough to warrant his place. Rearrange a little and start Semenyo up top with Fammy.

Sounds like a much better 2nd half performance, Semanyo especially worthy of a mention following his introduction.

Still 6th, +7 GD and 3pts advantage over Derby, one game advantage over all other realistic chasing play off teams. It's ours to throw away from here.

In the context of the season, a team we don't do very well against, and after a poor (ish) first half, a great away point.

Well done boys good point that cant wait to see semenyo in the flesh really hope him and fammy start love to see a strie partnerhip rather than a lone runner

I think they’d be a proper handful together, Semenyo looks quite happy playing off a shoulder and dropping deep to run, a hit like Che Adams.
