Marlborough Red
Any mathematicians out there who can answer this question. As far as I know the capacity of the redeveloped Ashton Gate is supposed to be 27,000. The Atyeo today had 2,700 Leeds fans leaving 1,200 unsold seats for safety reasons (that's another story) All other seats were SOLD OUT. So why wasn't the attendance 25,800 ? Where are the missing 1,000 seats if todays attendance was 24,800?
Ivorguy
I have long since given up seeking to understand published attendance figures at Ashton Gate

Marlborough Red
Additional 1,299 segregation ? There was already very substantial segregation by the fact that the Atyeo had about 1,200 seats covered by black tarpaulin so fans couldn't sit near the pitch . Dolman Block A seemed to be sold out so where are the additional 1,299 segregated seats? Something is not right . Should have been able to sell 25,800 tickets allowing for 1,200 unsold in the Atyeo. Please do some research and let us know the last time the old Ashton Gate had a crowd of 21.8k. And the redevelopment is quite clearly about a lot more than simply adding capacity. The point he is making is that before re development, the capacity was 21,500 but we only ever had 19,500 due to segregation etc. Today's gate, at "capacity" was 24,800 making a difference of 3,300. His theory is flawed, as he is taking the lower figure at number of seats, and the higher at allowed capacity, but that's where the 3,000 comes from. Bar BS3
Why are people bothered..?! Obviously they would sell as many tickets as possible. If its “sold out” they obviously can’t sell any more. What’s the conspiracy..?!

Plus remember that areas with tolerated persistent standing get a 10% reduction- so you knock 10% off S82/Singing Section.

Hence 2,900 short of capacity = 24,800. Would have made more sense to open part of the Atyeo for home fans and have the netting between them. Why we needed multiple rows of netting at the front I have no idea. You don't see that at other games, e.g. Palace V Brighton from yesterday just had one section netted to separate home & away fans.
