Should be moved to the rugby thread. Nothing to do with football.

Absolutely everything to do with football.

I assume our Julie is busy collecting evidence and we will have mugshots on the front page of Monday’s Evening Post. Morning raid at 4:00am, followed by Club Statements and banning orders.

Strong supporter of the Police/judiciary but confidence is being eroded due to inconsistencies in applying legislation -another eg being fox hunting - and directing scarce resources to people using bad words rather than investigating real crimes.

Assuming the Police do **** all, this will be a classic comparison of treatment of supporters from an elite sport vs working man’s given the prison sentence handed out to a football supporter this week.

Few questions for @Spoons

1) The hourly rate graphic that I posted on another thread. That presumably covers wages, NI, Pension etc- broadly accurate?

Given that the public holiday rate is higher- 40-50%- that's surely something overtime related (that part I mean).

If you copy and paste those rates on this thread then I’ll tell you how far out you are.

Doesn’t make it irrelevant though does it. @JulieH is BCFC liaison officer and the question is why are football fans seemingly more harshly targeted by the force as per other sports. It would have been just as pertinent a question if it happened at the cricket ground.

I think it fair to ask are all crimes treated equally and will the man hours go into the disorder at rugby as did v Swansea. The answer, I hope - and expect - is an emphatic yet. Otherwise it is a matter of police bias v football fans and yes that bad isn’t relevant to the BCFC liaison officer.

You answer your own question, JulieH is BCFC liason officer and nowt to do with the rugby so why harass her. Are football fans more harshly treated than those at the rugby ?  Conclusive evidence please.

Julie is here to represent the whole of A&S police - including Policy and fostering good relations - amongst BCFC fans. A job she does very well in my opinion

Your point is akin to saying Julie would walk past a crime being committed if it didn’t relate to BCFC, which is nonsense.

Re point you to; Sorry, but I’m leading horses to water here. My time can be better spent.

What a complete load of bollycocks. I never said that at any point in time. Look at the thread title and put it into context. Also back to my question and the conclusive evidence that you seem unable to answer. Your time would be better spent doing so.

I’ll indulge you for 60seconds

ever heard of police escorts in rugby?

ever heard police enforced bubbles in rugby?

Ever heard of early kick offs police dictated in rugby?

ever heard of police fixture movements in rugby?

...

that’ll do.

and your point is what exactly ? How does this relate to our BCFC liason Officer ? The point here being BCFC and not BRFC !! Good idea to refer to Dollys post.

Okay Tone, going round in circles and apologies if I haven’t been clear enough. This will be my last comment.

As I see it the OP was questioning the vigor at which police, for want of a better verb, police football fans whilst having a laissez-fair attitude towards rugby.

To ask that to our resident liaison officer, who’s job is to react to BCFC fans and to explain policing strategies and foster good relations between BCFC fans and A&S police, is perfectly reasonable.

It is not asking Julie to justify, it’s an observation and one I expect Julie is welcome to receive and feedback as a perception amongst the fan base regarding attitudes towards foortball fans.

This is not the first incident at rugby but whilst we have many interferences at football, and actually very few incidents, rugby has few interferences and probably similar level of incidents. In 12 months if you look back I bet the level of disorder between football and rugby events at AG is equal; Man Utd south rand, Varsity, Swansea, this... maybe there are some that I’m missing but it seems about par.

So to say to Julie why do you come down on us like a tonne of bricks but turn up as a token effort at Rugby, when it seems an equal flash point - oh and bill Bristol City for the expense - seems well within the remit of her role.

To say she only deals with BCFC matters in isolation to me seems nonsense.

She is nothing to do with the Rugby as I understand, therefore your comments are irrelevent.

Never once claimed she was, just that the liaison officer might want to feed back to her colleagues a sense of feeling, fulfilling the liaison element. Which would be totally relevant.

You seem to think I’m digging out Julie and you are jumping to her defence like the white knight. You’re wrong. Totally. Julie knows directly the respect I have for the role she carries out, I’ve told her.

Aswell as being the club’s liaison officer, I’m fairly certain she is also a Policewoman in some other capacity when not involved with the club, she is the law who happens to post on this forum so nothing wrong with asking her the question imo.

Maybe so, but it does not alter the fact that she is BCFC liaison Officer and not the Rugby. Aim your concerns at whoever that is direct. Julie cops enough shit on this forum as it is. White knight or not it irritates the crap out of me and no doubt her also.

Why not just direct your questions to the person concerned ? Do you talk to your Butcher when your fish is out of date ?

Because why does the rugby liaison officer care about views of BCFC fans?! They could say clear off to Julie it’s not my role to care what you football fans think.

C’mon man, you’re just being contrary now.

Oh well done, you’ve gone to the final one and found a misstep, many after first suggesting I asked a question.

Have the last word if you want. Go ahead, you’re a brick wall.
