As I see it the OP was questioning the vigor at which police, for want of a better verb, police football fans whilst having a laissez-fair attitude towards rugby. To ask that to our resident liaison officer, who’s job is to react to BCFC fans and to explain policing strategies and foster good relations between BCFC fans and A&S police, is perfectly reasonable. It is not asking Julie to justify, it’s an observation and one I expect Julie is welcome to receive and feedback as a perception amongst the fan base regarding attitudes towards foortball fans. This is not the first incident at rugby but whilst we have many interferences at football, and actually very few incidents, rugby has few interferences and probably similar level of incidents. In 12 months if you look back I bet the level of disorder between football and rugby events at AG is equal; Man Utd south rand, Varsity, Swansea, this... maybe there are some that I’m missing but it seems about par. So to say to Julie why do you come down on us like a tonne of bricks but turn up as a token effort at Rugby, when it seems an equal flash point - oh and bill Bristol City for the expense - seems well within the remit of her role. Aswell as being the club’s liaison officer, I’m fairly certain she is also a Policewoman in some other capacity when not involved with the club, she is the law who happens to post on this forum so nothing wrong with asking her the question imo.
