It's growing on me but I'm not a huge fan of the circle or the lack of a bridge.

I really like that.

For what it's worth...I really like it.

Especially just the Robin design on the leisure wear, which I think looks really smart. Especially in black and Marl grey.

Less is more.

Reminds me more in simple design to Charlton Athletics Crest.

The majority of us old en's don't like change...but this is modern, and aimed at the kids and younger generation, so they can relate to it.

Never been a fan of Football related Leisure wear...but a jacket/ hoodie or Gilet with that simple Robin design on, is in line with a Polo player or Crocodile. It's not in your face, but over time will instantly be recognisable.

Within a season, all other football fans will know when they see that Robin, that it represents Bristol City.

You will never please everyone...but I think they've done a good job.

I think overtime we will see the circles fazed out. Seems like their only purpose is for the kit.

Fair play to the club. They managed to plan and organise a marketing campaign without the logo being leaked before the official launch.

Along the Bath Road by Arnos Vale there are wooden signs that have appeared with the logo on - pretty smart

If someone is passing later with a screwdriver . . ..

The Brentford badge is a bee......Charlton Athletic is a Sword....... hardly similar to the new Robin logo.

The word was "Similar" not identical

While i have no real problems with the one the club has picked, i think this or a variation of it with the bridge is what will make our robin badge unique from badges like Sheff W and Spurs.

I don't think the one we have is bad enough to warrant an urgent change but it would be good if @Matt Parsons BCFCSLO could maybe bring it to the clubs attention that there might be a real desire to evolve the badge for 20/21 season.

Maybe a real public consultation between keeping just the robin and using something unique like the robin and bridge.

I knew that from memory as because both those badges are easily identifiable as the clubs they represent.

Within a few months the Robin logo belonging to Bristol City will be familiar to other football fans.

Shocking trolling

What has the bridge actually got to do with our club though..?

id like the bridge on there, personally, but it hardly “has to be part of our badge”

How many football clubs actually have a landmark from their City on their club badge..? Some, but very, very few..!

Not many clubs have a landmark of their city, you’re right. But why do we have to copy other clubs when including the bridge would set us apart from other clubs and be a nod towards history?

Admittedly, the ‘90s robin and bridge design has nostalgic value for me so I’m biased. But I think the new badge could’ve been far, far better - as others have shown.

Before too long other fans will recognise this badge as Bristol City in the same way that other well known badges are easily identified Wolves, Forest,   Brum, Baggies and even  the gas  have easily recognisable badges.

Name the other 3 or 4 clubs with a similar badge to Citys new one..............:cool2:

The point I’m making is if those 3 or 4 clubs made a new design today and came up with that, apart from City’s name, you wouldn’t know any different.

Off the top of my head..

Swindon

Cheltenham

Altrincham

You could also argue Charlton who are nicknamed the red robins.

The design just needs a few minor touches.

The only thing I can think of is the club is trying to create its own identity and brand.

I think the fans got what the polls asked for tbf

minimalist robin badge

Max it was busy, but not surprising as the Ashton Drive bar was closed pre-reveal for the players etc and to set up the storyboards etc. The main bar was where the reveal took place. Reaction was good, as you’d expect. I think with this kind of thing it’s always something to take away and think about though.

One thing is clear. You can’t please everyone. I think it would look much better as just the Robin emblem; ditch the date and the words.

I think they may ditch the roundel over time. It was probably too radical to just have the robin on its own, people have to learn to recognise the robin first as an emblem.

If we were on the same playing level as those tin pot teams then you would have a point.

We have aspirations to be a premier League club, I'm pretty sure most who follow the premier League wouldn't even know of the existence of these other teams, let alone football fans around the world.

We have the opportunity to take the robin and make it our own.

In a couple of years when people see the robin badge they ain't going to think of Swindon etc, they will think of us.

I thought they were the Addicks?

Don’t know what Altrinchams badge looks like. Cheltenham’s Robin is in flight and a different style and I don’t think it looks anything like Swindon’s badge.

I had to laugh at how they think a poll of just over 3 k fans is a fair representation of the fanbase, ridiculous. Its an uninspiring badge IMO and no suprise that Lansdown jnr and co didn’t properly involve the wider fanbase.. its a theme that is running through this club but i have to remember it really is THERE club and THERE play thing, kind of irrelevant what we think.

Correct.

I don’t think it’s that bad personally. Don’t like the roundel but the club could change that with enough feedback.

It’s certainly not in the same league as that monstrosity they tried to force onto us in 2005.

The new guerilla advertising campaign is absolutely brilliant and the club deserve full credit for it. We're in a City that is renowned all over the continent for graffiti and street art, we should be pushing that angle imo. Hope to see gurt big spray paint robins across the City.

Whilst the new badge has been a bit hit and miss, have to give props to the club for the marketing of it all, very impressive. Projectors, images on the bridge, posters and billboards everywhere, fair play.

Everyone needs to realise that what the club have come up with is final. A lot of money will have been spent on developing it to this point and all the money into marketing it and setting it out across all the Bristol City teams merchandise.

I think this will also be the end of the purple and lime 3rd kit for a while. The new crest doesnt go well with it and from seing the ads up around bristol today our colours next season will be plain Red , white and black for 1st 2nd and 3rd kits. Nice basic retro look to compliment the new badge.

An idea blagged off fans who were doing that years ago. BCFC have commercialised what was the non commercial.

@redraw were Bristol City fans using street art and guerrilla style ideas before? well virtually everyone apart from Celtic who started doing the same at around the same year. confirm or deny???

I am not denying city fans do all that.....but you are trying to suggest that the club putting up badge marketing on advertising boarding's, large projections on the bridge and buildings etc are ideas 'stolen' from the fans.

Absolute poppycock......its basic marketing

Anyway more importantly I am surprised there has been no mention of when the new designs can be bought

Seems a bit odd to have a launch and then not follow it up with sales of some kind?

Surely at least the leisure wear could go on sale now?
