All we need to do now is swap the robin motif to the left, aim it at the BS logo on the right and then reveal our new sponsor as Pornhub. JL is a genius. I mean apart from a solitary ITV article and Talksport 'club crest ranking' article I can't find a thing online other than local reports such as Bristol Post. Offside
The new badge has grown on me since yesterday and I don’t mind the design of the robin - but I’m still irked that it doesn’t incorporate the bridge. In my time as a City fan I’ve been used to our badge having something on it that represents Bristol (the Suspension Bridge on the old robin badge and then the coat of arms) and, for me, that’s always been more important than the robin (which is not unique to us). Without a reference to Bristol in the image it just seems that something is missing. One of the best things about Ashton Gate is it’s location overlooked by the iconic Suspension Bridge, and based on some of the images posters have put on this thread the crest design wouldn’t need much altering at all to reflect that. Leveller
I’ve been going to Ashton Gate since 1968. I don’t especially like any of the badges we’ve worn - paricularly that atrocious robin badge from the 1970s - 1980s, which was an amateurish embarrassment. But a badge makes no difference and is of very very minor importance.

ExiledAjax
I think the omission of the bridge is because they want the focus of the badge to be entirely on the robin. In the release video JL mentioned Bristol City 'owning' "The Robins" and said this "wasn't something we've been doing" or words to that effect. Whilst many (less illustrious) teams might lay claim to the nickname the club want it to become exclusively ours. This explains the simultaneous increase in the use of the nickname and the plastering of it all over social media and the city. I suspect that the club felt that including the bridge diluted this. Some will complain about this marketing tactic but personally I am all for anything that attempts to cement an identity on this club (and by extension city). I like some of the concept designs that include the bridge, but this reasoning does make sense to me. It will take time to bear fruit but could lead to Bristol City being the only team that the majority of football fans think of when someone says "the Robins". CS Red
Don't like the badge. Hated the robin when I was younger and still hate it. Theirs nothing unique about it. The new desgin is a similar style as the Brentford badge and we are not the only club that uses the robin. Cheltenham and Swindon are the first ones that come to mind. Lots of people go on about club identity so what can be more identifiable than a club from Bristol, using the Bristol coat of arms. The more often we change the badge the less identity we have. Lots of people also go on about tradition. The club has used the coat of arms for more years than the robin. If the club wants a kit and badge that is unique and traditional it needs to be the red and white along with the purple and lime kits with the coat of arms. Leave the badge alone. Just seen the Carlton badge which is also a similar style.
Spike
I just wanted to add that there are tons of clubs that use a round badge and this odd obsession with comparing it to Brentfords badge in my eyes can only be down to colours. Badges with a similar design to our own could include Brentford, Sheffield United, Aberdeen, Feyenoord, Denmark etc and then if we change up the colours even further Bayern Munich, Leicester City, Man City, PSG, Millwall, Wigan, QPR etc I think the reason ours looks so similar to Brentfords in terms of colour choice is because it's the best combination for us. Had we gone with only red and white it wouldn't have the same "pop". It still works in red and white only but I think we'd all agree that it looks better with the black elements to break it up and make it really work well. Also I'm looking forward to seeing it on a purple and lime kit.

Sir Geoff
Is it too much to ask that they now sell some decent leisure wear bearing the new badge in the shop, instead of the poorly designed awful stuff that is in there at the moment. Sadly none of the current stock appeals to a 57 yr old who is far too old to walk around wearing a football shirt !!
