This is probably the best/most likely addition I have seen, that is in keeping with the new design “font” and could be relatively easily adjusted too.....

Full marks to whoever's done that, like the subtle the Suspension Bridge addition and general tidying up. Can JL suck it up and incorporate this upgrade to the badge redesign for the greater good? Come on John.

More clean sheets than ...... last season! no ...... than Fulham!

Adam Webster ..... as many goals as Flinty, this season......

More transfers agreed and paid up in full than.....er.......

More Premier League opponents beaten last seasons than Huddersfield have  this season.

We're a bit thin on the ground for positive markers like that this season though.

I still think the badge is pretty w@nk to be honest. However, the images around the city and the beams on the building and bridge look really good. I hope the ones on the boards have vandal proof stuff on them coz them inbreds from the armpit and ring piece areals of the City will be out with their spray cans.

I thought it was a bit cheeky to beam the new badge onto the Suspension Bridge last night, when that is the only element of the badge that is missing for me....

Whereas Isambard Kingdom Brunel is on record as saying that the only thing missing from his suspension bridge was a Robin.

It might not be the design SL would have chosen, but there's no need for him to do this.

You do make some good points. This is overtly commercialised. It is corporate. There are elements of what franchises do.

Its an inevitable tide created by the Lansdown's vehicle Bristol Sport - Its their role to be the above.

In the face of it what would you do? What would your pragmatic alternatives be?

Maybe we are a franchise.  Maybe SL bought from Barcelona the UK rights to build a sports group.

Bristol.  A city famed for creative and subversive street art and graffiti.

Then there's this.

Yes Bristol is famed for creativity and subversive art. And Bristol Sport have taken paste ups and portrayed it as street art.

That is commercialisation - **** even.

I am not sure I understand your post but there are elements of a franchise certainly in the Bristol Sport framework - indicators of franchising. Barcelona has members, democracy and voting which are not indicators.

But my point to the poster in question would be due to the nature of modern football in the UK, what is being done has a sense of the inevitable, so what would he practically do to minimise what he perceives to be negative effects.

Isn’t it?

No it’s not. I grew up in kingswood and even though the 15ers had the edge in numbers in the eighties /early nineties that isn’t the case anymore and haven’t been for years. The pub I started drinking in at 17 the lord Rodney was supposed to be gas but was always 50/50 even back then. The only true gas pub I know of is the flower pot

Has the Rodney closed down now? What about Essex Arms always a gas pub wasn't it?

That was not an answer to the question.

It is ours in that we (many of us) live in it, the club are here …

Personally I would like the FC to be an even more active participant in its community. That would position the club socially and ever more positively, perhaps offsetting  the behaviours you note?

I will not support a franchise, and all this crap is making me seriously consider my season ticket renewal (s)

Hate it that a lot of people are bending over for this corporate bullshit.

I don't personally like the badge but define "franchise|" please ?
