Boro Match NOT on Red Button or BCTV (Merged)

Completely understand why a club would choose to not allow a game to be broadcast if there’s a reasonable chance of the away fans getting to the game. Birmingham and Bristol aren’t too far away from each other.

But, given the distance between the two clubs in this instance,  it’s completely  absurd  to deny fans the opportunity to watch the game. If it’s Middlesbrough’s decision to do this, then they should hang their heads in shame. I’ve been disillusioned with paying stupid money to Sky for sometime, but to find there’s a technicality that someone’s found which means I can’t  watch a flipping Tuesday  away game that’s taking place 230 miles away really pisses me off.

Hope the Japanese close another one of their car plants up there, and quote Middlesbrough’s decision not to screen the game as their reason for doing it

Grrrrrrrr

It should never be an option to be on the red button in the first place

I disagree. The game is on a Tuesday evening and not on a Saturday at 3pm. The  game was postponed for a legitimate reason and rearranged as is commonplace. You may have some specific technicality/rule that states why x fixture cannot be broadcast, but as subscriber it’s not unreasonable to expect that this should be on the telly.

Exactly. Just wish they’d make up their minds or at least put hard and fast rulings on it.  Either allow all midweek games to be on the red button or don’t.  As customers you can then make an informed decision on the service you want to buy.

There is live commentary on Talksport2 if you're not in the Radio Brissle area, not a whole lot of compensation I know but better than nothing....

Or follow on Bet365 a bit like Football manager though!

I'll have it on my IPTV service I expect, if it's not on the red button, but sod making 20,000 coffees, we haven't got enough cups!

How selfish can you be? And it would only be about 18,000 anyway...  ?

But Boro I doubt get much money from Sky Red button games. It may be the difference of 2,000 extra fans (mainly home but some away) coming or not.

I remember back in the late 70's, City did just that for the QPR away game. All you had to do was sign up and become a member of CATS.

Mind you, London is nearer than Middlesbrough!

I remember that day (sort of). There were 24 coaches with loads of warning no booze allowed + we were getting escorted straight into the ground.

So we all met up early for a few tinnies before catching the coach. Hidden vodka on board  it then dropped us off at 1oclock in Shepherds Bush with another couple of hours boozing time.

No memory after that. Did we win?

Distance notwithstanding, it was probably done for similar reasons.

Anyone with a smart smart phone or tablet can watch the game tonight if you follow these simple steps

- Download an app called Windscribe which is a VPN- I use it to successfully watch every single game.

- When you first log into Windscribe you will need to make an account, which is completely free.

-Once you’ve done that you will get to choose how much GB you want - choose the highest one (I think it’s 10GB) unlimited GB costs money but it’s value for money seeing as you get to watch any city game you want.

-Then switch the VPN on and ensure you click and choose a country that is listed below the big on/off button. This is the clever bit that tricks your phone into thinking it’s in a country overseas.

- Download Official Club App

- Log in to your account via club app or make one if you don’t already have one

- Purchase game for £5 on app.

-Tune in at 19:45 and watch us go 5th in the league.

Ahy problems gimme a shout and I’ll try talk you through it if needed

Thanks, it will be on BCTV for people who have an overseas subscription.

And sometimes, purely by accident;), some people with a subscription broadcast the game as a live online stream, although the commentary may be the home local radio station, as happened when it was accidentally streamed for the Norwich game a few weeks ago.

If such a thing should happen, then please keep us posted won’t you?
