Mr Popodopolous
Good thread about the reasons for their doomed season on Twitter- few weeks to 2 months old but still relevant. Lessons in there!

exAtyeoMax
4-1 Watched them on MOTD on Saturday, they were shocking! No urgency and sloppy passes. JB was pretty poor.
Bris Red
Bryan has been woeful for them. Cant see him getting a crack in the top flight anytime soon after that season..

City Rocker
Never mind Joe, I imagine the big bucks make it all ok! To be fair I'd have made the same move regardless of my club loyalties. I've no issue with JB.

Lrrr
Does anyone who knows better know how this season could affect Fulham with regards to FFP? Does being in the premier league do anything different to them other than more income? Wondering how their finances looked at the end of last season given sky have just said they had a net spend of of £105m this season, they'll probably make some back through selling players and parachute payments will help but in a year or 2 could they be in trouble financially? Think we'll know more in 2 years. Parachute payments soften the blow. If they make an immediate return, they should be fine.

Based on their results they maybe missed breaching FFP for the 3 years by £3-4m. £7m on other expenditure disallowed i.e. youth, infrastructure etc, promotion bonuses as per Swiss Ramble as was a one off stadium cost of impairment of £7.1m in 2016/17. Their starting point for next season therefore will be £23.2m loss after exclusions and promotion bonuses, in 2017/18- however remember that in PL ludicrously you are allowed to lose £35m (plus excluded costs) in a season. Hence their total allowable loss will be £61m + exclusions-£23.2m- which means that over this and last season they could lose plus exclusions, some £37.8m. In short, alright next season probably, and maybe passable in 2020/21. Will they need to sell 1 or 2 this summer though?

Think- unless it's changed yet again - it's Years 1 and 2 if you're up for 1 season, and 3 years if you are up for longer. So, probably £41.6m and £34m...then they best go up as it'd be nothing. I'm pretty sure you're wrong. My understanding is that all clubs (regardless of length of time they'd been in the PL) receive payments in years one and two after relegation, but only receive a payment in the third year if they'd been in the PL for more than one season prior to relegation. Edit: I see @Mr Popodopolous beat me to it!

Then all of the others in danger would be on 3?

Huddersfield in particular with their prudent management up there, their investment in infrastructure- well as big a financial bonus relatively speaking as to Blackpool 2010/11 probably. Big big difference though- assuming Hoyle doesn't go all Oyston, they should be to use their 2 seasons to build solid foundations for years to come.
