Not really no

mcgoldrick is a poor mans fammy and coming up to 32 so may well start to decline

Cantwell is 21 and will cost us a fair whack and I can’t see Norwich wanting him to go

Alan Browne possibly but I’ve not really seen much of him

McGoldrick could be a good signing I agree.

Fraizer Campbell possibly on a short term deal providing the wages weren't stupid, but I'm sure I read a while back that he had been out for a while with a serious injury...

Mark Bunn was supposedly in talks with us before going to Villa, but to be honest a lot would depend on our goalkeeper situation, and who stays between FF and NM.

Rodwell is a surprising one for me, has he just gone completely off the boil? Must admit I haven't really heard much of him for ages, but imagine he would be on big wages.

A lot of names there, but then there are also a few names with previous top level experience there, some of which I think will have to significantly lower their wage expectations....

I'd have a fair few there.

Morrison, Powell, Van Der Hoorn, Olsson, Fer, Hooper, Lee, Basham, Kelly, Browne, Pinto, Klose, Marshall, Mikel, Bryson, Vela etc...

I'm not sure how accurate that list is though as Huddlestone is on it and I know for a fact he isn't OOC this summer.

Despite the fact age is creeping up on them, there are quite a few quality players there.  A good, hard-working manager could pick a pool of 22-24 players from that list and build a team with enough talent / determination to win the league!

Regardless of talent...we will not buy unless the players DNA fits with the club's ethos.

Mark Ashton did a lengthy interview about this last season...saying that it was just as important for us as to the players talent.

This is very evident in our present squad and the complete harmony and willingness to work for one another.

You can see the DNA of our squad now.

So for all the talent... you'd have to go forensic to know whether a player would fit here imo.

Holden said something in the pre-Boro interview about "there's finally a culture of players looking to see where they made mistakes in a game win lose or draw" (not exact wording, but you get the jist of the message).

I wonder if that is in some regard part of what Johnson means when he talks about "players he can trust".

Really surprised Browne is out of contract, I thought he was one of Preston's best players.

Also surprising, Basham at Sheff U and Harper at WBA.

From a PNE fan on another forum...

'Alan Browne is contracted till 2021.
Think we also have an option on Michael Howard.

Ours are: Ben Pringle, Tommy Spurr, Andy Boyle & Marnick Vermijl, all 4 are deadwood. Bye'.

There aren’t loads on that list that jump out at you in terms of “if we could get them, would be a fantastic free transfer’.

Most Of you students have already picked the ones I would, e.g. Van der Horn, Alan Browne (If he really is a free), Either Of the Olsson’s, etc.

Get that keeper from 'Boro.

Sell a few shirts with his name on the back, at a couple of quid a letter if we sell half a dozen of 'em, we could be FFP compliant for the next 12 months. Might even turn a profit.

whos forbes Phillipson masters playing for now?
