Dr Balls
Everything was just a bit off. Crosses too deep, passes a bit wayward or too hard, and sometimes players on different wavelengths it seemed. We created chances but either fluffed them or one of their players cleared it away. We also lost some momentum when Liam Walsh replaced Korey Smith. Fine margins but at this level when you are playing against a team in form but scrapping at the bottom of the table for survival, it was never going to be easy. Reading were leading Norwich until the 80th minute at Carrow Road in their last away game and deserved their draw there, while a 10 man Wigan have just beaten Leeds at Elland Road today, which puts our recent draws at home against both teams into some context. Eastside Moonwalker
Have to admit both Pack and Hunt were terrible yesterday, good thing we still have a game in hand and Derby still to play though, 5th is gone so it looks like 6th is between us Boro and Derby, first one to bottle it misses out

MelksRed
Morning Campers! After much deliberation with myself over the past 14 hours I have come to the following conclusions.... 1. We were off the boil yesterday...and (like many other posters) believe that we just had multiple things going wrong (crosses, overhit passes etc). 2. Pack is probably distracted by his home circumstances (I believe he's just become a father) and it's possible he hasn't been sleeping properly (i remember those days). Admittedly he's not been up to this standard of his playing last year but he does put a shift in. 3. I agree that our home form is terrible. We've had some good results at home but these wee often off the back of bad performances (not including WBA for example....there have been some great parts of games). We do have 1 more home game and the remainder are away....if our away form is reasonable then we stand a good chance of still making 6th. 4. We've just had a wake up call....maybe this will motivate the players to press on....some of them may not want promotion however as they realise that they could be looking for new employment if we did (and this is obviously a large step into the dark) achieve promotion as they would look to take forward the best etc. 5. We are not out of it yet.....but we are teetering on the edge of another season of Championship footy......come on LJ motivate them, inspire them and get them to pull a little 4 game winning run. All is not lost.....just frustrating. COYRs

If we go up the worst thing that can happen to the players is a few will end up at a new Championship club, but this will be hugely offset by a hefty promotion bonus and guaranteed increase of wages included in their contracts. Plus they will have a Championship promotion and a very proud achievement on their CV whether they feature much the following season or not. To make any difference to their collective spirit to succeed the whole squad would have had to have been in cahoots at some stage and decided they would 'throw' promotion if it looked likely - something that would never happen imo., because, as well as the financial benefits of getting promoted, most players will be genuinely motivated to achieve things in their career and to test themselves at the highest level possible.
