That's what I just can't understand. What exactly are we supposed to be jealous of?

About the only thing they had over us was the quality of pie on offer and they don't even have that now. :D

They would claim that they're a "family club", but given the frequency of violence at their games it does have a hollow ring to it.

The nub of it seems to be that they are a smaller and less successful club which means that they are liked more by fans of other clubs.

And this is true as smaller clubs are more popular with other fans: for example do you prefer Man Utd or Carlisle?

The logical conclusion to this, if being "liked" is so important to them, is to go back to being non-league.  If they were doing a Torquay and flirting with the Conference South then they would be very popular. You might even get a few City fans watching them as the rivalry would be non-existent at that point.

Come on, be realistic - how can you expect them to find the time to build a new shed, erect a new canopy, put new seats with letters that don't make sense in AND sort out the new kit?

Also, I think you forget that they were a non-league team a couple of years' back and this sort of situation with the kit is perfectly normal at that level. In fact don't be surprised if they play in skins in their next game....

But by signing a one year contract shows how committed he is to the club. Come on keep up #gaslogic!

haha,

oh and the kit, I heard they can't afford it at the moment,

Usually the smaller team is more liked, but I'm not sure that's true with the 15ers. They seem to think so, but fans of other clubs that have had to play them seem to dislike them.

As you will be aware, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in yesterday's referendum.

The ramifications of this decision are going to be significant and will impact, both positively and negatively, on every single industry in the UK, including football!

At this stage it is too early to draw any specific conclusions about what it will mean for Clubs such as Bristol Rovers FC and the competitions we enter, other than the withdrawal process is unlikely to be very quick.

Once the UK invokes Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, it will begin a two-year process of negotiating to leave, although it could take even longer.

We will endeavour to keep all our supporters informed, on a periodic basis, of the consequences for football and an exit from the EU.

Brexit = Bristol Rovers exit

Brunel Professional Risks Stand? Ironic corporate faux pas!.

That flimsy gazebo will collapse as soon as its hit by a wayward shot.

Based on their decision to associate their business with this joke of a structure, Brunel Professional Risks are unlikely to attract any new clients and will probably lose existing clients.

My dad bought me a Tri-ang train set because it was all he could afford. I spent many happy hours watching the engine and carriages go round and round in circles because that is all they did. My brother, the cat and I sat on the lino floor beside it waiting for the engine to derail (which happened regularly) and ready to carefully put it back on track and set it running again..  Friends and family seemed to enjoy seeing us get such pleasure out of the little toy although I never really caught on to what they were really thinking.

Many of my contemporaries had a Hornby train set which cost  a bit more than the Tri-ang. These had  signals and sidings with multiple lines and lots of different types of engines and rolling stock. There were stations and landscapes and little figures all built to scale and painted  in appropriate colours with great attention to detail. If you were lucky enough to have one of these sets you couldn't just sit on your backside watching it go round and round. You needed to design the layout in an imaginative way so as to create a working model railway which would impress your friends and gain their admiration for your skill and ingenuity.

Has anyone ever considered that they are infact an elaborate prank? A Spinal Tap of the football world if you will. This would explain the constant feed of hilarious news coming from them. I think the joke is on us and someone somewhere is giggling at us for falling for it.

Crikey, I think you may be right and we now look very very stupid indeed.

I thought Chris Morris had been quiet but he's been running this massive comedy project for the last few years and we've all fallen for it.

Come on Chris, game over now. But it has been brilliant. My particular highlight was your impersonating the "Rovers fan" on the phone-in programme: "Two divorces, the Thatcher years..".

Chris you are a stone cold genius sir.

It could be a long term project by the KLF. There was a rumour doing the rounds that they `created` Pete Doherty just to see what reactions they could achieve and this seems just the sort of thing that Cauty and Drummond could dream up.

Apparently the additional costs are due to them insisting on having `#comingforyou#ticktock` across the shoulders.

Looks like they the hashtag they are pushing is #evolutionnotrevolution - really trying to hammer home that wally's not about to splash the cash:

Have just looked on that link and someone has quoted "If I'd asked people what they wanted they would've said faster horses" - Henry Ford.

Not in R*vers' case they wouldn't, Henry.  Slower horses make for easier punching one would imagine, Henry.

I think you're right. This isn't the first time there has been a jolly good jape at the Mem. Remember the feng shui hoax from 2000?

Or you could crash your train violently into the matchbox police car that had stopped mysteriously on your level crossing or the toy helicopter that had somehow landed on the track whilst full of station personnel, and whose days were now numbered.

Oh those were great times.

Patience is important to us. We did all jump for joy when we welcomed our new owner and the honeymoon is coming to an end and reality sets in .. however we do find ourselves with a league one status .. a good manager .. and a good team .. The New stadium will go ahead , when ?? Who knows but as I said patience is what we've learned to aquire . You do have a good stadium that's a fact and ours is what it is .when you follow a club you stand by them through good and bad times .. yes it's frustrating but there ya go .. My thoughts on the season ahead ? We shall end up middish and maybe a few more acquisitions .. I know nothing about your team but understand you've  improved from the way you got yourselves out of trouble last season. . I predict 16th ish .. I am one of the realists who support BRFC and yes I do enjoy the odd bit of banter with you guys as I do with my own red mates ..
