It's a hobby horse of mine, whenever I see the roof of a sports stadium, warehouse or the like I think of generation. Guess we have 25% of what we could have - pretty sure there are none on the South Stand. Rough calculation - we have about 600 sq m of cells on the roof. Even in Bristol on a moderatly sunny day we'll be getting 500w per m. That's a decent amount of power. Doesn't work on tents though. redapple
Credit where it's due . They're having a good season, the manager must be half decent , and the Centre Forward can't stop scoring . They could well be in the shake-up come next May . I might be alone in my thoughts but it's good for football in Bristol .

Got to say, Dopey did the same at Salisbury City a few years ago. Make the side fitter than everyone else (easy when you are the only full time team in the division as Salisbury were) and throw the kitchen sink at teams in the last 15 minutes. Not very pretty and comes unstuck now and again (0-6 at home once) but gets points. Better teams find you out though and there is no plan B. They are already massively over achieving and have a dependence on one striker banging in loads of goals (just like Salisbury did). Ithink that Dopey is one of those managers who will always do well in League 2 with a meagre budget but will struggle long term in better leagues and, oddly, with better budgets. While working at Bristol Rovers' game against Gillingham on Saturday, the man, who claims to support Rovers' rivals Bristol City, posted online saying he was going to deliberately undercook the food served at the Memorial Stadium. He also posted a picture of his view of the pitch alongside the message on social media. 'At work.. think am going to poison the whole lot of rovers fan today..' he wrote. 'Can't be bothered to cook everything is going to be undercooked today.. how many people going to have the s****... Best news is am in the away end.. so no looking at inbreed *****.. here the view I got for the next 7 hours' However, the man was sacked before kick off after someone at the club noticed his post. He posted again later to claim it was 'a joke' and offering his services as 'a chef'. 'How many likes can I get... I was fired today for putting up a post about the gas... Got called in office and sent home at 3pm.... Were Bristol City and we do what we want..... Can't take a joke..... Any one need a chef....' The club confirmed that the fan had been escorted from the ground by security and insisted that he was not an employee of the club, but rather a member of agency staff brought in for the game. The man later said he was sent home, and claimed that it had been 'a joke' They also said that criminal proceedings could be taken against him, although Avon and Somerset Constabulary confirmed to Sportsmail that neither the club nor the agency have yet reported the incident to the police. A Bristol Rovers spokesman said: 'On Saturday, prior to our match against Gillingham, someone purporting to be a Memorial Stadium employee posted on Facebook that he intended to harm supporters by tampering with their food. 'This matter was drawn to the attention of our security staff who escorted that person from the premises. 'The person involved is not a Memorial Stadium employee but one of the agency staff we employ on match days. 'The agency has been informed of the matter and it's possible that criminal proceedings will be taken against the person involved. 'We take the safety of all supporters very seriously and were able to take swift action on Saturday to prevent anyone coming to harm.' How long has a Gashead been mucking up our catering? I think we should be told...

Midred
Interesting comments on BBC websiteafter last night's match by Karl Robinson, (of all people!), saying that his team will have to start learning to cheat a bit more when playing teams like Rovers. Perhaps if they stopped cheating themselves they wouldn't give away 2 goals in the last 3 minutes. Seems like 3-3 was a fair result.

Frankly my cat could have managed Salisbury City out of the Southern League with a full-time team that was essentially the same as the one who played in the Conference the previous year. Even then, Truro won the League! Dopey's team blew a 14 point lead in March the next season and had to go up through the play offs. One parallel with the 15'ers is how much all the other fans despised the 'old' Salisbury.
Smaller than a flea
This is banter on very thin ice here. You can criticise the fans, the stadium, the lack of wealth of the new owner, and the players, but slagging off the man who has totally transformed our club in two years is never going to work. I hate to think where we might be if Nick Higgs hadn't turned to him in desperation and said "Well, all the other overpaid buggers have failed miserably, so it's on your shoulders now, lad." He's joining Swansea soon, apparently.
