Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

The AJIB share price is down 10% in the last two months after a 25% fall in profits during 2017. One investment analyst described the bank's capital investment strategy as "milking the business". They usually distribute most of their profit as dividend so the Al Qadi family income from this source will be down 25% this year.

Just the right time to spend half your income propping up a third tier football club and the other half building a club house and some football pitches on a piece of scrubland at Almondsbury.

If it's capitalised, then it's not a debt.  Just like Steve did with our debts.

What does that mean?

Steve lansdown capitilised our debt?

Whats the difference between citys debt and rovers debt?

One is red (good debt) and one is blue (bad debt).

Seriously though, Steve Lansdown pays the money to make our debt disappear. In return he receives shares in City to the value of the money he pays. As there are no shares to buy, City release new shares so that he can be sold the necessary amount. The down side to this is that any other individual or organisation with a shareholding does not get the chance to buy an equivalent proportion of shares so their holding is diluted. The upside is that it keeps our incredibly rich owner happy to throw money at us, and allows us to compete at our current level.

If anything above is inaccurate, then apologies, it is just my understanding, so please feel free to correct.

So Slagchat are talking in terms of a £3.0 million loss for the year against a £3.2 million loss for the previous year and needing a crowd of 15k every week to break even.  As things stand, it would seem that another £3million loss can be expected next year too and the year after, etc.  How long now before Wally pulls the rug (not the ones they had cleaned)?

They could sell some players, but I don't think they have any left that are worth anything.

Selling the Colony might raise a few bob but ultimately, the only asset is the Mem.

Look forward to seeing the accounts together with their plans to plug the leak.

Let’s face it the Al Qadis have been a huge disappointment; they failed to do and have/had? no intention to do what the fans and the previous owners expected of them.

They should do the honourable thing and put the club up for sale before the UWE site is used for something else.

I think the penny has finally dropped. Not all is well over in Minimal land, they want Wally out

Wally will sell the stadium to Aldi or Lidl and get the hell out of it leaving the Sags begging to play in our shiny new stadium that they despise so much.  However, many Sags would never watch their beloved team at AG leaving a crowd of 4.5k and a hefty rent payable to Bristol Sport.

Alternatively, there is Twerton, Forest Green or Durdham Downs.

Cant see us letting those pikey vermin into the Gate, We would need to get locks fitted to everything that was not bolted down.

Surely it’s a mistake, AG is not big enough to hold the “Blue Many” Could they bring the Wally’s Wealth and upgrade AG into a 60k stadium with parking and santa’s Grotto! As their part of the deal!!!!!

(White seats, corrigated plastic and a bit of 4x2)

They wouldn't get permission from the council. The locals would right be pissed off by another 23 fixtures at the Gate after us and the rugger.

Surely with the level of debt accruing, and counteract that against the assets of the business (which is possibly becoming negligible).

Without a significant level of fresh investment, I really can't see this business as a 'Going Concern'.

One question, does the proposed Accounts include provision for interest? As this would obviously not impinge on cashflow.

Talking of cashflow, like any Football Club their Accountant must be eating/drinking and sleeping cashflow analysis (no real difference to any SME)

There is the small matter of the ground being used by the egg chasers.  A ground share between 3 clubs ain’t going to work so no idea why it keeps cropping up?

It seems to work at Hull. Hull City and their two rugby league teams. Dunno how the pitch holds up, but for the holding company that owns the ground, it's a way of maximising revenue.

24 games as the gas would get to play ONE cup game.

For the pedantics, I know they play in both the FA and the League cups, but statistically one of the two will be away.

Rugby League is now a summer sport and at Hull the council own the stadium.

I see the blue few are in melt down because their game at MK Dons is ON.

Their supporters club have issued a statement saying that the all of Bristol is in lock down and no buses and trains are running,  lie after lie .  Trains and buses are running in Bristol.

Obviously the stage coach that normally serves Horfield is confined to the stables.

I suppose they could sell the Men to a Management company and then become their tenants, after all "it's what they do".

It's a short term solution though as they would continue to lose money and any extra revenue the ground generates.

What they could do is, form a new company with the rugby club where they both have ownership of 50% of the new company and rugby ground. They could then have a clause where, if either of the partners go into administration the other partner could buy out the other for a figure of what? shall we say £10.000, that would seem a fair price. Then the other partner could own the ground and charge the cuckoos a rent for it's use. The rugby club would then be seen as the heroes, saving BRFC from going out of business completely and into oblivion. And everyone is happy, as it's a fair thing to do, Hahahahahahahahaha.

The statement was posted yesterday and buses weren't running.

It's more of a safety thing when local authorities etc are advising not to travel.

And this would benefit us how, exactly?

Those ***** tried to steal Ashton Gate in ‘82.

As far as I am concerned they can **** off & play on The Downs.

Except I don't want them and their fans near the downs. That's our part of town.
