“....we know what we are, a pub team from Essex, we know what we are....”  - must have been hard hearing that bellowed out from the home fans, and it’s a true story...the home fans sang that loud and ‘prowed’.....

And the Gash riposte?

”...we know what we are, a pub team from Wessex, we know what we are...”

I recognise the guy to the left of Braintree No.15 - fairish hair, blue jacket right at the first one of the terrace.

This is pretty obscure but he was interviewed in an HTV West documentary about the Bristol rivalry in 96/97 - it aired about a week before the first Mammary Ground fixture, and a couple of months afer THAT derby.

He was at a Gash home game and they won. He said “Bring the City on” to thbe camera. Of course City were brought on and duly beat the scum 2-1. :)

I'd have Darrent Bent here now if his wages were affordable.

Has he got a club at the moment?
There were rumours a month or so ago that the Central Coast Mariners were after him.
Looks like we might be going for Ross McCormack instead now.

Ross McCormack and the Sags! Now there's a marriage made in heaven...?

Wasn't he on something daft like £50K a week at Villa? That should put another nail in the methane snorters coffin then. Obviously, it's true as we read it on the internet. ;)

Ahem...

In May 2018, it was revealed that his annual salary of £2.3 million would have a bonus £1 million added if Villa were promoted, despite him not playing a league match for them that season.

The poster lives in Australia, and it's his local "soccer" team that he's referring to with regards to being after McCormack

"when we do well",  like picking up a crucial point in their relegation six pointer against Shrewsbury.

Ha, ha, is that a trick question as in we'll do well to stay in League 1 this season with the fact they can't compete with Forest Green on the pitch and all those tents [that makes them the laughing stock of the entire Football League] their wonderful owners provide off it.

Actually reading another post, I remember why their supporters are laughed at so easily !

But of course, their moronic fans doing the EXACT same thing in the 2007 game is completely forgotten, not to mention when they all ran on the pitch goading Wycombe fans when they survived dropping out of the football league (??), running on the pitch attacking opposition players (I think it was against Eastleigh), I could easily find the article.. those idiots have a pitch invasion when it comes up on their scoreboard that we're losing a game..

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but I understand the Yanks have offered Wally £5m for da roverz. Wally is holding out and wants £10m.

Heard a rumour that former Rovers director, the housebuilder Ed Ware proposes to buy a majority share in the club from Al Qadi, with a view to developing the Mem for housing to fund a new stadium elsewhere.

No idea where that 'elsewhere' might be or how the numbers would stack up, but it's certainly a prime residential development site. Could be connected to the above rumour or could be rubbish, who knows?

New stadium from scratch out the ground, 35 million at least if it’s anywhere near yet alone in bristol

they won’t get that for the mem so again somehow they are short on change, although he could say he will do it, make s oackey on the development, be the new messiah before doing a Higgs
