pongo88
If Rovers get a bid for Clarke Harris they should accept it without question. He had a good 4 months with them, scoring some amazing goals. Prior to that his scoring record in the lower leagues was poor. He could have become an amazing striker overnight or, more likely, the spell with Rovers was a flash in the pan
bcfc01
Apparently, due to holidays, they are short of programme sellers tomorrow for their big pre-season game against a 2nd string Birmingham; "Due to holidays, work etc there are very few sellers tomorrow. If you would like a programme or 50/50 and can't see any sellers outside the ground then you may wish to go to the SC sales point in the car park. If anyone would like to volunteer to help out just for tomorrow then they can ask for Phil at the above location. Thanks and apologies for any inconvenience." Bristol Rovers are reluctant to lose their star striker, but they could be forced to cash-in on Clarke-Harris for any offer due to tight finances at the club, meaning that he must be sold prior the the first midweek home fixture, to release money for the electric meter to power the floodlights. Clarke-Harris is understood to have a buy-out in his contract. When this figure becomes apparent it will be Bristol City’s fault and Bristol Rovers are bracing themselves for offers for the former Oldham and Rotherham forward, from bigger clubs, such as Forest Green Rovers, Salford & Newport County. It could be that the likes of Bury & Bolton use their superior financial muscle to tempt Rovers to part with their prized asset. Clark-Harris himself is understood to be keen on a move away from the Memorial Stadium after realising that it was not just a camping trip. Sounds like he could be on his way. I think they will do pretty well in the league this year, maybe even promotion, but it will be a pyrrhic victory as was the case with Bury winning promotion because the club will be drowning in debt. Football fans tend to have fairly short term views so expect the crowing cries of "coming to get you" as the slide into selling off the ground gains momentum. Is Twerton Championship ready? Twerton is soon to be undergoing an almost complete rebuild redevelopment. It’s what most clubs, the size of Bath City & better are doing nowadays. Rovers hope to one day be able to keep pace with the likes of these illustrious neighbours, but until such time as that’s realistic - they can always hope to squat and/or steal.

bcfc01
They're playing Birmingham at 13.00 and I don't think they realise that Brum had a strong team out yesterday against Swindon and won 6-1. Probably be Brum squad players today - watch the Pikeys go nuts if they win, they'll be championship ready in their eyes Edit - just seen the Brum team, should be a competitive game.
