If there were more unsavoury ones then fair enough, but I was told by 2 saggies that is all that was sung. The Brighton fans then sung back about them being too ugly to get a boyfriend (or along those lines). Seriously is that really now classed as homophobic, will the Brighton fans come under scrutiny for calling other fans "ugly"? I honestly don't see anything offensive in any of that, and if it was sung by our lot I certainly wouldn't take any offence to it. Has the World gone totally PC bonkers, or is it just me not seeing anything in that? Will anyone be getting kicked out for singing "you fat ******" in the near future? "Errrrrrrrr………….No further questions, Your Honour". 1

I think clubs in Scotland have relatively good support given the population of the whole country is just over 5m people and there are 42 clubs in the main four divisions before the non league clubs are considered. Also, there are some clusters of clubs all fighting for condensed local support - eg there are six clubs within the Dundee postcode alone. People down here are quick to dismiss Scottish clubs as ‘pub teams’ (as you did) yet there was a significant clamour on here recently to sign a player from Aberdeen - why would we want to sign a player who plays in a ‘pub’ league for a ‘pub’ team?! Anyway, just my regular attempt to stick up for the game North of the border - as you were.... The support in Scotland is excellent considering the standard of football on offer, the tedium of the Glasgow clubs winning everything and the weather. 1

Merely , because the law makers have decided that at the present time one is , one is not (Not saying it’s right - just that’s the way it is)

If you are on about whether a chant against fat people is nice or not then yeh I agree, probs not nice for a fat person getting sung at, but they have a choice.

(could be part of Boris's police recruitment drive I guess) There have been reports made to kick it out about the homophobic chanting at the game, sadly a little more offensive than the original poster quoted I still don’t understand why people feel the need to chant homophobic or racist chants at football matches , it tarnishes every fan of that team with the same brush . The law is clear , don’t do any chanting of that nature. There are 100s of other chants which can be sung. I don’t think it is the world gone bonkers , it is more that the world is so much more diverse and inclusive and a very very small minority of “ fans”choose to show how behind the times they are in front of their mates. When they are spoken to one on one by us they almost always are ashamed of their actions and words, yet still it goes on. It is not difficult to sing chants that are not homophobic or racist . Well said Julie (though you may have omitted the words ‘are not’ from your last sentence). How times have changed. Sadly, in my day the rozzers were often thought to lag behind the more inclusive and progressive elements of society. Perhaps it’s indicative of the times that the more unpleasant elements among us have unfortunately, now been given a permission structure by our leaders and politicians that they can now routinely spout all sorts of vile nonsense that they probably wouldn’t have mentioned three years ago. Well done all those who consider the feelings of others, be it at AG or the Mem, whether it’s ordinary punters, or A&S’s finest. Well was he black or white? I work on employment software and the differences in wording here have been made clear to me with recent updates in how to record this data. Your sex is what you were born with and not a choice. The term is "legal sex". Your gender is a choice, you can claim your gender and even take steps to change it, our software now carries fields to allow for self described gender. As a 57 year old bloke, it's useful to have these things spelled out to me, I put it here as it may help others. It might just seem a case of semantics, but when it comes to sex and gender, it's a genuine difference.
