Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

On the plus side for the sags, there has been confirmation from Public Health England that how ever bad the Coronavirus gets in the UK there will still be matches played at the Mem. The reason being that matches played there will not qualify as 'large gatherings' or classed as 'crowds'.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

Happy Donowa Day

...oops, a day late

Remember it well.

I was in the EastEnd for that one with a couple of mates from school. Went proper berserk when the goal went it.

Back when the EastEnd was a den of cigar smoke, noise and cider fuelled lunacy.

The day those backless seats went in, something about that stand died.

Bristol Rovers holding a 'sleep out' at The Mem tonight in support of Bristol's homeless..

a very commendable worthy cause, so credit for that...

but there is a sense of ' irony' about the whole issue considering their own precarious position on the 'home' front.

(perhaps they're raising a few bob for the kitty incase they'll be in need of homeless support themselves soon eh?)

This won’t happen, Twerton Park isn’t upto EFL standards plus they want to install a 4G pitch. So looks like they’ll have to beg someone else to let them rent their ground instead.

:10_1_108:Their CEO on plans for a new stadium says ‘ there’s nothing concrete ‘

so no change there .

He could have left out the word "concrete" to be a bit more candid and open.

For the life of me, I just can't remember this game, either a brilliant night on the lash afterwards or I just wasn't there!  Not sure if the roar for the Andy Leaning's penalty save was louder than for Louie Donawa's goal!

If the EFL decrees that all league games have to be played behind closed doors because of Coronavirus, will their players notice much difference on match days?

The fans may not notice a difference but the owners will. All clubs will lose crucial revenue and some will probably fold as they would not be able to pay their players/staff. It must be a worry for poor Wally.

My all time favourite game and was in the East End that night too. Utter mayhem.

The G*s fans chanting in the minutes silence for Les Kew(?). I've never known the Gate that hostile before or since.

Devon White diving for the penalty, Leaning saving it.

Donowa scoring at the open end with a few minutes to go to finally put to an end the hoodoo they had over us at the time. Utter scenes.

Hollowhead was interviewed after the game and described the 15ers who ruined the minute silence as a “disgrace”.

For once in his life he was right. Fair play to him.

They also have no idea how to make parody songs.

They base their opinions to the philosophy of Craig David’s 7 days.

They all want him sacked on Monday
He’s taking them to Europe on Tuesday
they’ve hung the Johnson out bedsheets on Wednesday
And on Thursday Friday and Saturday
But he’s a legend again on Sunday.

Embarrassing.
