Is it finally beginning to dawn on them?

The thing with our debt figures is I just can’t understand where it’s all coming from. We’re only spending a certain amount given restrictions on wages. Our budget for transfers is modest at best. Where is all the rest of the money going?

Other than on a London office which shouldn’t be too much.

If debts piled up and Rovers had to call it a day, a new club may be formed and allowed to continue in their current division.

We'll be generous and not insist they start at the bottom and work their way up (like they did with us). However will we refer to  them as the 00ers?

In time, that'll doubtless be changed to "The Ooer misus".

All joking aside; it's been suggested that upto a dozen clubs could go bust with current income. As a oneoff, would the league allow "phoenix" clubs to continue where their previous incarnations had been?

If the sixth wealthiest club in the U.K. Can't pay their debts football is finished?

I don’t think Rovers are likely to go bust in the near future, as they are better off not playing. Fixed costs will remain the same and there will be some loss of income from variables such as fake Fanta sales, but there are some benefits. If staff are furloughed and there are no match day costs the loss per week could be less than normal. There is also the benefit of players who will soon be out of contract and not retained, to be replaced by lower cost non-league players.  If there is someone who has studied the accounts in detail they could provide an analysis of the benefits/ disadvantages of never playing.

IMO they would be better off going bust and reforming; and I like the idea of phoenix clubs restarting in the same league.

Fans consortium, ground share at Twerton, sign a squad of OOC players and have a share issue to buy the Memorial Ground.  They would be far better off in that position than they are now; insolvent were it not for director assurance to keep funding and losing £3m a year.

And we would never again hear the petty "82ers" because as you say they would be the:

You'd have to weigh up the Pro's & con's of them never playing again.

There are definitely "poetic" benefits to them going bust, but they do have to be weighed up against them never losing again... ?‍♂️

Why the ‘00ers’ ?! That was two decades ago - we’ve had the ‘10s’ now we are charging through the ‘20s’ - you’re a bit behind!

Quite correct, well spotted. "The twenties" it is then.

Could be called the 10ers - the decade they went bust in and coincidentally exactly what their owner is worth in real money...

Not sure which Government announcement to look out for in respect of them - the date football stadiums can reopen or when camp sites can reopen. Which category do they fall under?

I think wan kers as long as you you socially distance by 5 inches has been allowed all the way through but if not they should be able to all pull together.

The first phase, is trying to find where the keys are to open the gates. They haven't been used in 4 years.

Phase 1 is expected to take no more than 3 years.

Phase 1 would include building roads curiously in the shape of suburban detached house cul de sacs, then a cheeky application for change of use......

FTG indeed.

I had a look on the blue side and so far no one has gone that route (so far). Someone has questioned whether they have planning permission in place though, presumably they have an application in that they have been told will be green lit?

Didn't they have an attempted application to convert a shed turned down not long ago?
