The QC appointed to hold the village green application review, was appointed by Bristol City Council. It just so happens that, she had "NEVER" found against an application for a village green. Makes one wonder why she was appointed and, who recommended her.

Ms Ross Crail, the "independent" Inspector appointed to deal with the village green application was a lawyer who specialises in advising people on how to apply for village green status.

It was not her job to make a decision.  However, she did make recommendations and it was down to the council to implement them or not. She recommended that the whole 42 acres of the site should be registered as a village green but the council only wanted to register 17 acres.  As a result it went to the High Court under Judicial Review.

Thanks. If I'd had the time I might have looked that up, rather than loosely referring to those specifics. I remember thinking at the time that she was bending every rule in the book and past precedents, to find a way to recommend the application for approval. Even when it never passed the first rule, of being used commercially within the timescale stated in the application.

I’ll just leave this here , from the BBC;

’ It's not been an easy road back for Mike 'Boats' Boateng, the twice-jailed former Bristol Rovers defender who now helps keep England's future talent on track.

Mike served 16 months in prison for an attempted match-fixing fraud in 2013 before receiving a lifetime ban from football.‘

His one appearance was for 14 minutes as a substitute in 2011. He left in 2012.

Listening to Ben Garner on BBC Radio Bristol today, he did make one interesting comment. This was that he thought League 1 & 2 should start next season one or two weeks before the Premier League and Championship. I would agree, their seasons other than playoffs are over.  It could certainly be financially beneficial TV etc and might help some of the lower league clubs that would otherwise struggle , to survive.

He was right too LR, Hunt was an absolute disgrace and clearly didn't give a shit! Thankfully, we don't see anything similar with the current crop and I hope we never do.

He was useless but it has to be tempered a bit by the later revelations about his mental health at the time. I often wonder if the club knew he had problems when we signed him.

And to think we were paying him twice what we had offered Bradley Orr to stay !!

Well guess who sold me two CDs in my village jumble sale recently, which turned out just to be empty cases with no music?

Step forward Gas CEO Martyn Starnes.

I guess the 50p I was stiffed over them pales into insignificance compared to the indignities the 15ers faithful have put up with.

Well at least you can sleep easy knowing that you have helped to feed a poor unfortunate soul for another few days.

The alternative is that you've just bought yourself a place on their board ?

Probably because you spoke to him about the dog bothering and the lad who played boob cricket before asking him for a 50p trade.

Confused by the situation, rather than selling you some music, and with his mind being on other things, he immediately offered you two 'seedy cases'.

God that was convoluted.

That guy was on Bristol.Live the other day bragging that the Gas had sold 1300 Season Tickets for next season.

Meanwhile we’ve sold over 12000.

Apparently they’re far more loyal than us though, I know this because they bang on about it at every opportunity.

Mind the gap.

Clearly we are a whole bunch of plastics only attracted by the soulless bowl of a stadium.

You didn’t open them to check ?

Schoolboy error .

Apparently the Gas have looked far and wide for the right architect, someone who reflects their ambitions and have plumped for this person.
