Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

Recommended Posts

Makes me laugh that some of them are defending their new manager, saying that with all the games they've had recently, he hasn't had time to do any coaching....

Now, you might consider that a fair point but....

And this won't feature in #gaslogic...

If he hasn't had time to coach a side that were 4th when he took over, how has he made them so poor without any influence?

The problem is simple. He wants to turn a long ball outfit (and even the deluded Fewers admit that) into a football team. That’s about a years work right there and the results are there for all to see atm.

I’m more amused at how the most loyal, bestest fans in the World who never get on their players or managers back (like us ‘shitheads’) are mostly calling for him to be sacked ASAP.

Special support that 👏

I'm loving it !

Including defeat against the team at the bottom of the entire football league!

The best bit is if they had any sense they would take the pain right now and let him get on with it. But they will more than likely hound the guy out before he can get the job in motion and revert to some long ball Neanderthal Manager that they seem to adore out there and off they go again....

That mob have been long ball for about 40 years!!

The trouble was, he wasn’t the messiah, he was just a very naughty boy

Get the feeling that Alf Garnett will not be around too long based upon the crap he has dished up in his first 6 games.  Shame really as he seems like just the man to take them back out of the Football League where they belong.

Alf Garner missed the post match presser, some of the blue few think that he's walked already.

"Get this wet wipe out of my club" 🤣

I’m trying get confirmation on this but I think I’m correct in saying BG’s win percentage after half a dozen games is the first in the EFL to match the funds in the club owner’s bank account.

To be fair, I remember them playing it on the deck a bit with David Williams at sweeper (I think) in about '83. Yes, they definitely passed the ball on the floor a bit, in 1983. Then Gerry Francis arrived .....

The loyal and true have turned on poor old Alf big time. I thought they never did that and it was only us that slagged off our own.

I`m right behind him myself, extend his contract I say.

I sometimes wonder if Bristol Rovers isn't real, that it's some kind of TOWIE type soap opera purely for our enjoyment.

I mean when they won at Ipswich they were 3rd, on a roll and with a home game to come against AFC Wimbledon to go 2nd and I rhink City lost that day. Lireraly No-one would have written a sscript where the manager walks out to go to  team  in danger of relegation to the National League, they employ a new manager who's never played, managed or won a game of football in his life and they drop like a stone to 12th and lose at home to the team in 23rd in L2 whe there was a real chance of a Wembley final.

I`ve thought for ages that they could be a long term installation project by the KLF but then think even the diseased imaginations of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty couldn`t have dreamed up what r*vers have actually done.

If this new manager wants to play a more "possession based" style of football, it would suggest that he thinks the crop of players are good enough to be able to achieve this.

They were going well with a direct style, so why change it?

When I house shared with @Harry we once sprayed (I think they might have been his) bedsheets with some sort of anti-gas/relegation celebration slogans and hung them off bridges over the M32.

They were all signed 'The KLF'.

But the KLF could afford to!

As an aside, Julian Cope wasn`t very happy about that stunt - apparently a lot of the money they burned was his!

OMG.... Its worse than I thought if they expect the manager to drive the team bus as well.

@Banjo Islandgot to say that it's been yonks since I've seen anyone say or post 'ideal' instead of idea.

Great to see that the Bristolian dialect is alive and well. Some say it's simply adding an L to the end of words, but it also could be adding an 'aw' which in the great Bristolllian dialect sounds similar.

And yes. He is doing a gert lush job there babber.

Long may it continue.

Last 5 league games they've taken 2 points out of a possible 15

Prior to that (and Garner's appointment) they took 13 out of 15.

That makes me smile.

Any decent fan is boycotting that competition in its current bastardised form.

The really decent ones should be forming picket lines to stop people from going in; gates of zero would end that farce now.

It's a great competition that has been ruined.

Oh they do boycott this competition so they say, that’s until they reached the Semi Final last year then it was like no boycott ever existed.

Sadly, for the sags, he is; but it's sand and hot air and he's got plenty of that.

Whoever was on Radio Bristol interviewing someone from the Fewers after their game obviously believes the Myth on how loyal and true those morons are by stating to them ‘R*vers fans are well known for not booing at their games, unless they are really not happy with something’

😂😂😂

They tossers boo every week whether it’s aimed at Wally, one of their players, a S’Head playing against them, or just at how shit their club is.
