Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

I demand an enquiry by the EFL! Surely they can't be allowed to get away with this... etc etc etc.

Both teams today to finish in the bottom half of the table.

I would write a letter about this but I'm too busy writing to the advertising standards authority to complain about Bristol Rovers advertising themselves as a "Football club".

According to the EP their manager had a joke with their goalscorer before last night's game and he said "are you going to score tonight, he said Yeh, and he did" my ribs are still tickling.laugh a minute on the north side

It comes to something when a manager considers discussing scoring goals with a member of his team a joke.

How the hell do they get away with it virtually every single sodding week!!!?

On the plus side, with the amount of penalties and red cards in their favour, given their league position it really shows how shit they are!!

Haven't won a single point since Xmas without the benefit of a penalty or sending off

Oh dear oh dear. Apparently they’ve complained to advertising standards as well 😂😂😂😂C0278CBD-8E8F-4A31-941F-B64ACD215063.jpeg

Is this the same melt who phoned in to Talk Sport after the League Cup Semi Final bleating on how brilliant they are and we're a big club blah blah

According to some over on asschat having scabbed a win via a penalty and a sending off against a weakened Lincoln side `Ben Garner is building something special`!

They've never built anything special - just look at their 'stadium'

Miss Gardener.

We are well aware that Bristol has multiple football teams, after all it has one of the biggest set ups of non-league football (of which any Rovers Fan should be well aware, given recent history) in the country.

We therefore apologise to the oldest club in Bristol, Roman Glass St. George, for not acknowledging them sooner.

Glad we could resolve this issue.

Completely forget about this. So their claim to be the oldest club in Bristol, is false and, we have been a member of the football league (unbroken) since 1901. The claimed oldest club haven't been in the league as long as us, only joining the football league when the authorities formed an extra two divisions and then it was only half the country(div 3 South). They stayed there all cosy for thirty (yes 30) years until finally progressing upwards for a short period.

So not the oldest Bristol Club and not the oldest league club, why do they claim and believe such rubbish?

Yep - founded in 1872.

Clearly the oldest football club in Bristol.

They are the oldest league club.

They've just been in the league for a shorter time.

Went for a curry with some good mates tonight, one of whom is a methane snorter. According to him, the dark arts are part of the game and they do them better than anyone else. 🤔

The fact they are shite is irrelevant.

To be fair to him, he said he would dread playing us as we are miles ahead. Far too sensible for a gashead.

To be fair to them this is true, stealing scrounging, cheating, leaching, no club in Europe does it better.

I respectfully suggest you look into the history books again. BRFC joined the football league in the 1920/21 season after being admitted to the division 3 southern section. We (BCFC) joined the football league into the 2nd division in 1901  and have remained a member ever since, regardless of an administrative name change in 1982, our membership has never lapsed.

I think we're talking at cross purposes.

Of the Bristol clubs in league football, they are the oldest.

We joined the football league the earliest.

As the older club of the two, Rovers are the oldest league club in Bristol. But they have been a league club the least amount of time
