                                                                          From the Book of Revelation

And on the eighth day the people were summoned to the tabernacle to hear the great redeemer speak

He told of the false covenant of the syrup of figs and the multitudes did hiss and spit like vipers

Thereof the redeemer did say “fear not for I come from the east, with wise men carrying tablets, to part the red sea and lead ye to the land of milk and honey where ye may kick the ass till the judgment day cometh” and the people did rejoice and their spirits were soothed.

But no sooner had the soothing begun then low and behold a dark cloud descended over the tabernacle and a messenger appeared and bowed before the great redeemer saying “my lord the learned men of the temple proclaim ye are not a redeemer but a deferrer and ye have not produced the fifty pieces of silver they were promised so the land of milk and honey has become a forbidden paradise and you and your followers must return to the wilderness until a true saviour appears”.

On hearing this the great redeemer flung himself at the mercy of the multitudes, begging forgiveness, casting off his fine robes of blue and white linen and clothing himself in sack cloth and ashes saying “I come not to be like david gold or because oldfrankincensed or to get my picture in the daily mirror but because I love football and perhaps one day someone will donate the cash to buy Rovers a new ground so please don’t be unkind to me it was only a bit of fun.

And as the heavens opened (no refunds allowed) there came forth from the throng of specially invited guests a chosen disciple who bowed before the great redeemer and sayeth “ oh master we are your faithful and true followers who will believe anything you tell us so please don’t pretend you have no money or means to build a new ground and just get on with buying up all the available commercial land in Bristol so we can have the stadium and training centre as well as our own state of the art asylum.

Ahem

U T G!  Anyway, still up for that pint or at least a friendly handshake on Saturday at the Mem? Drinks on me!

He's just trying to call his bluff. Regardless of which team Bert does support, he speaks the truth. Regularly.

Watch as nothing happens on the UWE plans, then Jan arrives and a couple more loans come in and perhaps if they are lucky 1 perm signing from non-league. Will the penny have dropped then....doubt it.

Not when BBC1 are blowing smoke up Wally's asshole this week. Unfortunately for the Rovers they've got an owner who in my opinion has no interest in them and for him this is an ego trip without the money required.

I have to agree with you. I was wondering whether Wally was just the face for Steve Hamer. Steve Hamer does have a rubbish reputation from Swansea.

Couldn't agree more. The media and fans alike seem to persist on this fallacy that he is some kind of Steve Lansdown figure.

Personally if I was Bert I wouldn't want to meet some random nutjob from a football forum in a pub anyway. Danny will probably claim this proves he's not a Gashead but then Danny pretended he was a City fan when he first started posting on here.

Bert has been posting here for nearly 10 years, that's a pretty long time to maintain an alter ego that supports another club. As I remember his posts throughout the years they always seem pretty informed on the club both current and historically. Dancing D's only "evidence" that he is a City supporter is that he is often negative about the blue few. Going by that criterion, there may be more Rovers fans than I ever imagined as there are apparently a load of them posing as City fans on here!

I think Danny is looking for a new dance partner and the venue will be the 'blue oyster' bar.

:P look Bert has said he's a true blue, you all say he's a Rovers supporter, so obviously he is.  And as such, it's nice to put a face to an Internet name especially if it's a fellow fan.  After all there's so few of us ("the blue few").

So I can understand if Bert doesn't want a friendly pint etc (I'm sure he attends with his own social group and as such doesn't feel the need to share a pint with another supporter) but my offer is there to shake his hand at any game we are both at - I get to about 70 or 80% of home games these days due to work and family constraints and it would be nice to put a face to the name of a fellow fan!

Why would he want to share a pint with you? Why would anybody?

I did something I have never done before and went and looked at your posting history and I have to say I can't see any evidence of this in your defence. I did however see some of your posts around the JR period and wondered if this is an example of the kind of positivity you would like to see from Bert?

To me this seems to be just another post by a deluded gashead, remember those days when you thought that the new stadium was but months away? No wonder Bert has not taken up the offer of a drink, you would probably offer him a cider and buy him an apple juice.

Patently a threat.

Why don't you **** off to your own forum if you don't like what Bert has to say or send him a pm on asschat as you are both on there no doubt ? I can assure you he defends your club like Miah but he isn't as blinkered and deluded as most of you.

Aren't there specialist dating sites for minority groups or those with strange fetishes & mental abnormalities..?

Have you been on "The Undatables" yet..?

So have I now (feels grubby....and petty tbh) but as DDD has a bee on his bonnet over Bert apparently claiming to be something he's not I think it's only fair.

I don't know what you can see but I can only view around 50 of Danny's 400 odd posts. For some reason there's a massive gap in posts between April 2014 and August 2016, don't know what's going on there...what happened around May 2014?

Edit: my posting history only goes back as far as 2013 as well, presumably this is something to do with the big OTIB forum revamp last year?

Well - no.  Although he did say the UWE is the only site they're looking at, and funding isn't a problem. But then said a team of accountants are currently reviewing feasibility and lots of discussions with other parties need to conclude.  So nobody any the wiser really.

Oh and just about the worst fans panel they could pull together - cringeworthy even if I say so myself.

Danny, I'm surprised at that admission.

Any true Gashead will tell you that once a site has been selected, design completed, planning permission obtained and finance put in place.

The next logical step is to do a feasibility study

Yep

Question:

Where do you want this club to be in a years time.

Answer:

Above Bristol City.

Question:

What is the ambition of this club.

Answer:

To be higher in the League than Bristol City.

Added to one chap who was surprised that Doppy Daryl talked to Leeds as they really are no bigger than Rovers and you get an idea of how dilussional they where.

Actually turned into a bit of comedy gold me on my cycle trip home.
