The EFL should not be allowing even the possibility of that scenario to exist: if City win both and Derby lose one and draw one then with Bolton's record standing City are 6th and with Bolton's record expunged Derby are 6th.  The EFL would then be deciding who gets the last play-off place after the last ball has been kicked.  That is not how you run a professional league.

Possibility of suing the shit out of the football league if they decided to expunge the results if that scenario were to play out and Derby were then to get 6th over us?

Yep.

Expunging Bolton's results was IMO a valid option prior to Saturday's games.  If they do it now or after tonight's games then it will affect a lot of things: places, play-off contenders, and as noted above the outcome of bets.

The EFL will bring a whole heap of trouble down upon themselves if they do it now.

The soft option is two 3-0 walk overs and be done with it.

We could try, but we all know what the result would be.

Bans for Bailey Wright and Diedhiou, and Wiemann not being allowed any goals next season

Red cards shown to any player under 20 who makes a tackle as well

Oh dear. They could really be in the shit now. Not surprised this Bassini bloke didn’t meet the relevant criteria given his past, so maybe Bolton dodged a bullet there but if no one comes in sharpish they could well be gone.

Really do think they could go bust.  Feel a bit sorry for Brentford if they have to play again on Tuesday - not fair on fans or players

Bit torn with their plight though. Of course wouldn’t wish it on their fans, but reckon they’ve been cursed ever since Gartside their former prem chairman seriously recommended a closed shop in the prem, so no relegation to and from. Reckon the football gods cast a spell on them at that moment.

The words of a chairman can't be used to underwrite the views and emotions of generations of fans.

I really hope they get a happy ending.

Also add in Shaun Harvey at the EFL, with all this going on he got a tidy pay rise this year!

Tbh- it is the EFL! ?

They're proving themselves thoroughly incompetent and slow with their own financial regs so...what's new!

Presumably that was for the success of having U23's teams in the EFL trophy....

And on it goes

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11672/11709927/laurence-bassini-says-he-is-in-control-at-bolton

LB says he's"taken control" and served notice on Anderson to give up his share certificates.

not sure if anyone's actually seen any of Bassini's money yet................probably because he hasn't actually got any!

If I was a Bolton fan I'd be praying for the club to go into admin. ....new pheonix club to be formed owned by the fans , and start the journey back from (probably) the North west Counties League.(similar to the path Hereford took after being screwed over by devious owners).

Interesting, because of Brentford's superior GD that has now moved them up to 12th from 15th. Their good GD could see them grab 9th should other results go their way and they beat Preston at home. Could be a much better pay out for finishing 9th!

I'm actually chuffed that we've finished ahead of them, as they are a bloody good side.

The Brentford game is now off, and they've been awarded a 1-0 win.

Bolton's rearranged Championship game versus Brentford will now not take place and the Bees will be given three points on the basis of a 1-0 victory.

The match was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 27 April but was called off 16 hours before kick-off as players refused to play over unpaid wages.

Unable to confirm that adequate safety personnel will be in place, Bolton were given a prohibition notice.

The EFL said Bolton were now guilty of misconduct and will be disciplined.

Just imagine if the matches versus Forest and Brentford had any bearing on Promotion or relegation .

Either of them may have needed to beat Bolton to stay up or get to the playoffs, what a fiasco.

The EFL have had it easy really - also with the 9pts deduction for B'ham which realistically hasn't had any real impact as they weren't going to go up so they've in essence had a right result.
