Bolton Wanderers (Merged)

Oh dear. He’s just said that” the rest of the staff aren’t on strike, just the players. At least they’re showing loyalty to the club unlike the players “ !  But Mr Anderson , the fans don’t risk a career ending injury every time they set foot on a pitch ! Can’t blame the players for questioning whether the club could even afford the medical treatment for any injuries picked up if they’ve paid no-one for 2 months !

Our rivals for 5th and 6th place.  Villa, Derby, Boro have only played them once this season. Derby lost, while Villa and Boro won. So if points are null and void then Derby will benefit as they won't lose any points. Sure Bolton will find a way out of this mess before it comes to that though

If points are removed then fully expect legal action from City, Villa and Boro in the event that Derby go up / get in the play offs by virtue of losing to Bolton !! Bolton should be made to field their youth team if necessary .....lets face it , that’s exactly what we did in 82 !

Presumably we'll have to apologise and pay some sort of compensation.

...and Bailey Wright will get a 3 match ban.

Edit: Just read One Team in Keynsham's earlier post, along the same lines.

Note to self - must learn to read the whole thread before posting

Just announced on SSN that the Safety Authorities will not permit Bolton's next two home games (Ipswich & Middlesbrough) to go ahead due to lack of staff inside the ground.

The games could be played behind closed doors, but the EFL think that's damaging to the image of the game.

Needless to say, the BWFC website is still selling tickets for their next two games.

And there chairman just came out and said being paid late is no excuse for going on strike

the more you read about him (Bolton’s chairman) the more you dislike the bloke

Blimey, it’s taken you that long to work it out.  He is a class A “see you next Tuesday”.  He is the preferred creditor, he doesn’t give a shit.  We saw that with Doidge.  He is playing on people’s goodwill to the history of the club and the club itself.  He knows it.  It’s a disgrace.  EFL and “fit and proper” is an oxymoron.

Yikes - this is looking extremely bleak for them all round.

Surely the fans will turn up anyway and just mingle around the ground. Isn’t there a hotel built into the stands, they could all book rooms and cram as many fans in to view the pitch? Or is it shuttered during matches?

Adjourned till May 8th, shock that....

any points deduction wouldn't happen til next season now anyway, so it makes sense,

more worrying is the fact they can't furfil their existing fixtures currently with SAG not granting them a safety cert

31.1

Any Club failing to fulfil its fixture obligations in respect of any match under the jurisdiction of The League on the appointed date or dates or causing The League to suspend any fixture shall be deemed guilty of misconduct, unless the circumstances giving rise to such failure are outside the control of the Club and could not have been reasonably foreseen or reasonably anticipated and remedied prior to the match. Every Club shall carry out regular and appropriate maintenance and checks to ensure that its safety certificate is not suspended or withdrawn.

31.2

The Club failing to fulfil its fixture or causing The League to suspend such fixture shall be liable to pay compensation for any expenses actually incurred by the opposing Club as a direct result of the failure or suspension. The amount of compensation will be at the discretion of the Board who will consider every such case on its merits. The Board may refer the amount of compensation to be paid to the Disciplinary Commission dealing with the misconduct by the Club failing to fulfil its fixture or causing The League to suspend the same.

They would have to play behind closed doors, already being muted that their games against Ipswich and 'Boro could go this way at short notice

Would that give an unfair advantage to the away teams , not having a partisan crowd on their backs ?

Guess it could be viewed either way, imagine it would be just like a training match so may be harder to motivate yourself

Bolton could play with less pressure not having a crowd on their backs

Guess it is on a par with England playing Croatia last year when the ground was closed to all

That was due to a punishment for Croatia displaying a swastica

What have Bolton and Ipswich fans done to warrant that punishment

Nothing.

The only thing the EFL could do would be to suggest the game is played 'away' - but that might give other teams the hump.

What happened when charlton game got abandoned? That’s a club unable to forfil a fixture, what was the punishment?
