January transfer window cost us....again

...as disappointing as today was, and as hard done by we may feel from referee decisions today, and over the last few weeks ...it doesn't hide the fact that once again we failed miserably in the January transfer window, and that is what has cost us a top 6 spot

We've been saying all year we needed a striker. And if ever there was a game where it couldn't of been any more evident....today was it

Fammy....really isn't good enough. You want him to be, you really do....but he just isn't . He's so slow...

We tried to do it on the cheap....and like last year, we've come up short .

Cardiff last year. Sheffield Utd this year. Recruited experienced players and good players at this level when it mattered....and they have both reaped the rewards .

What an opportunity missed this year!

Hopefully this summer we learn and make improvements

To be fair this is two seasons on the trott weve bottled playoffs.

Striker required.

Unfortunately no change of £20m needs to be spent in the summer on Dasilva, Kalas, two strikers and a cm.

if we sell anyone from the current squad then that money too, to be reinvested.

We are close. We just need the quality the extra £’s gets you to make the jump.

I can’t see us being any stronger next season than this as ultimately Lansdown isn’t going to spend the money to bring a top striker at this level in. The best we can hope for is a quality loan striker - sound familiar?

Look at the heap of shit £5m got us mind ....

(a) he’s not a heap of shit

(b) the accusation was Steve Lansdown won’t spend the money on a striker. That’s clearly nonsense as he has already done so.

You are always incredibly negative and if you think Diedhiou is a heap of shit then it is clear that your negativity comes from not being very bright.

I think last year we collapsed. This year has been different - we certainly havent bottled it

We have. Games in hand to pull easily into the playoffs.

Today wasnt bottled, we played well.

However weve dropped a lot of points recently.

But its still progression season on season.

Hopefully further progression next year means playoffs minimum.

Can’t disagree, it was a really bad window. I don’t like the ‘what would you do different’ comments; I had no idea who Kodjia was before he signed, same with Fammy; this American gk we clearly had eyes on, Maenpaa (who will challenge Wilbraham for best freebie). We stretch our net wide, we should have identified and acquired targets. I do believe there is a complacency and a reluctance in the board room. It wasn’t always so, we went for it ridiculously after Hull P/O for a couple of seasons and hamstrung ourselves. So I do get the reticence.. but we have to have bigger bollox January 2020

We certainly need to invest in someone a lot better if we ever want to become a top 6 team...that's for sure

Easily? What easy games are there in this league?

Answer : none

But if we aspire to be good enough we have to ‘easily’ win these games.

Ah well, nice little bristol city fade away once again.

Poor mentality all round, supporters included!
