pillred
After we have gained the most away points in the second tier for over a century I was wondering if we have EVER gained more points away (before this season) than home in our entire history, and for that matter how rare is it for a team to get more away points than home ones can't have happened very often. Mr Popodopolous
It's very rare but I'd suggest that with modern tactical trends it isn't as unprecedented as it once was. Looking beyond us for a moment...until West Brom sacked Moore I think they were better away than at home. Middlesbrough were fairly evenly split under Pulis- in fact they got 37 points away and 36 at home! I think Norwich were potentially certainly earlier in season at one stage better away than home. Excellent example in PL. Crystal Palace. 5th or 6th best away record but at Selhurst Park only 4 home wins- possibly 2nd worst home record with only Huddersfield below! Judda
It's quite common now with counter attacking teams however what is strange is that we're not a great counter attacking team! We tend to win through possession and crosses...
FForbes
The answer to the OP's question is No ! However in 2004/05 we had the same points at home and away (W9 D8 L6 Points 35)
