This is just taken from Sound of the City from last night.  Well worth a listen if you haven't already.

I did, LJ was quite open wasn't he? Twentyman is a broadcasting mastermind around these parts also.

He was.  His best interview yet and for me underlines why we need to tie him down to a long term deal as soon as possible.

When does Twentyman's contract expire though? 😂

Give him a year extension then review his contract again in February 2020

Would be an awful way to go about things

Probably when Geoff himself expires.

Long contracts are dangerous and often regrettable in many working situations but especially in the unpredictable world of football.

Moyes 6 years and wasn't pardew given 8 year contract at newcastle at one point or am I making it up?

As if we didn't learn from the player contracts that nearly drove us to extinction.

Seem to vaguely recall Big Sam getting a 10 year deal at Bolton- mind you he did very well there, until he quit.

He’s signed on a new long term deal.

That gives me reassurance that he’s been promised that his ambition will be matched. Exciting summer ahead chaps.

Spot on, some fans seem to have very high expectations, dangerous in such a competitive League with such a fine margin between success and failure. Won’t take a lot for the boo boys to re-appear

If I watch another season like I did at Ashton gate this year, won't be too impressed.

But in such a competitive league as your rightly say, I think continuity is important. So welcome the news of an extension.

I think that’s as balanced as you’ll find.

He is another bankrolled over aged upcoming manager just there to be sacked

Boooo!

No seriously doing a good job, I have gone from wanting him to succeed, calling for his head, then thinking he is the messiah, wanting him out again to thinking he is on verge of something special and that was just today🤔.

Hopefully less streaky and onwards and upwards.

Away matches were far more enjoyable, in general.

This place just wouldn’t be the same without Tommy and his totally random postings.

Luv it.

Absolutely. But I've seen 1 win out of 18 away in the last 4 seasons ... I know how to pick them.

Pat Lam just announced long term deal, so hopefully got them both in at the same time.

Have to say I'm doing a robbored on this one, waiting for it to be announced by the club given the latest we heard a couple of days ago from LJ. Could easily just be media sources trying to put out an 'exclusive' after hearing LJ will be discussing a new contract.

I just get the feeling Steve Lansdown wants Lee Johnson to be the Bristol City manager forever and ever, for better or for worse.

The last thing SL would want is hassle.

LJ’s doing a good job so why make extra work for yourself ?

What possible reason would he have to keep Johnson if he wasn't doing well?

The reason he hasn't been sacked, and by all accounts is getting a new contract, is because he's doing a very good job.
